Tournament
[The atmosphere is tense following the arrival of Team Evolution. No one is quite sure how to deal with these visitors, and in the absence of any official word, the majority of Union had been avoiding them or otherwise looking on cautiously from a distance. Only the more brazen citizens had dared to strike up conversation with any of their visitors - and what they learned only stirred up more consternation.
That night, Guardsmen, escorting a group of four men and women, are sighted exiting the gates and approaching the camp. They are observed deep in conversation with the red-haired leader and the woman in the lab coat late into the night.
Some 12 hours later, an announcement sounds out across Union once again. The tone of voice is detached.]
After meeting with our guests, the Council has concluded deliberations and come to the following decision:
All citizens of Union are to treat the members of Team Evolution as honored guests, mindful of the differences in ideology precipitated by five hundred years of divergent development. Antagonistic words or actions will not be tolerated; any such infractions will be subject to harsh discipline. Under the escort of Guardsmen or Swords, our guests will be allowed access into the city and given the opportunity to inspect any areas that are generally open to the public. It is our intent that they come to understand our way of life in Union, with a particular emphasis on our relationship with our Pokémon companions. We ask that all citizens do their part to represent Union accordingly.
In regards to their request concerning the remains of their machines, the Council will deliberate further on the matter. Input from the Engineers working on the project would be valued.
Additionally, Team Evolution has stated an intent to hold a physical demonstration to showcase their particular ethos. While unorthodox, we have determined that this demonstration does not run ethically or morally counter to the tenets to which we adhere, and we ask your cooperation in this matter.
To be succinct, Team Evolution has received permission to hold a Pokémon tournament.
The battles will be for the sake of understanding each other's strengths and to gain a greater depth of insight into our respective methods. We believe this to be an opportunity to demonstrate our philosophies - to show the ability for Pokémon and trainers to act of one mind, fully as equals. Team Evolution will observe battles between our own trainers; we, too, will have the chance to view battles amongst their people. A friendly exhibition match between our own trainers and their own will conclude this 'tournament'.
We encourage our stronger trainers to participate, but any are welcome to join. It may be worthwhile for them to observe the depths of our bonds with our companions even in immaturity and youth.
The demonstration will begin in two days. Again, we ask that you remember that you act as representatives of Union in this matter. This will be a demonstration of our bonds with Pokémon, so we must ask that Enlightened abilities not be used during this time.
((The tournament will begin on 2/25, Monday into Tuesday. Signups remain open here and will be closed 2/24, whereupon the first match-ups will be announced.))

I... I don't know. They listen to you more than they do me...
[Takuro looks at Hiroshi with an unimpressed look.]
...I... suppose no harm comes from trying, though.
