[Unionomura, Honoka's cart shop of Calderan snacks, has been closed since the event, with a variance of signs hung from it apologizing for the prolonged absence. Some days, there was a basket of sweets with a note of "Take one!", other days there was no sign at all. Really, the Calderan girl had been abnormally scarce.]

[Today, she makes her reappearance, though not at her cart. She's sitting with her elbows on her knees and her chin in her hand when the feed pops on, though at first all anyone will see is a startled Pumpkaboo.]

Ah-- Kabocha no!

[She realizes the feed is on and looks. Well, startled. Caught. Uneasy.]

[Her hands immediately come to cover her cheeks, just under her eyes. It really only makes the slight differences to her more obvious. Her face, just under her eyes and down most of her cheeks, as well as her hands from about halfway between her wrist and elbows to her fingertips are smattered with pale, shimmering orange-and-pink scales. As she leans away from her Warp Band's feed, her fingernails turn slightly more opaquely white and elongate.]

Ahhh. Oh. Oh no. Well. I guess maybe I should probably say something since I guess some of you might be worried. Shoot.

[Rei peers down at Honoka's feed. It had been a while since she'd seen her. And...huh...that's interesting. That's not...what she expected to see.]

Honoka-chan. Is this what I think it is?

[Face in hands.]

[She peers out from between her fingers.]

[Rei can't help it. She laughs, a merry, happy thing.]

[She pulls on her face a little.]

It's-- Okay, no, it's. I'm glad it happened 'cause I probably wouldn't have been able to punch Hayato's weird imagined evil Doctor guy in the nose near as effectively if it hadn't been for this!! But. Reiiii what are my parents gonna think.

No that's not unusual. After twenty is, from what I know. Sometimes you just don't need the ability until then and that's when it comes.

...I guess that makes sense. All I've really ever done is stay home and watch Yukiho until recently, and even when we were in teams against the Gods I didn't do very much...

[She looks off-screen, watching her scaly feet.]

[Rei chuckles and rubs her shoulder a little awkwardly.]

Hot. Very, very very hot. So hot I didn't know what was going on. Everyone thought I had a fever, only...it never dropped, and I never got sick. Eventually though, it got so bad that I had to get special clothes made or I'd dry out.

[That sort of alarms Honoka.]

...Wow, I'm glad I'm not a Fire type, I think.

Well you're obviously Dragon-typed! And you're absolutely adorable, you know.

[Pulls on her face a little.]

[At least she's not weirded out since Rei obviously likes girls...]

What will you do now though? Are you going to focus more on training?

[Well she's oblivious as the hills, for one, and for two she's not judgmental.]

...It would probably be a good move. I need to figure out how to handle myself-- I've wanted to learn to fight, to be able to hold my own when things get bad instead of being told to hide and keep my sister safe.

I don't know where to start, though.

Simple. The same way you start training a Pokemon. You work out, you learn to fight through practical experience. If you want though, I...can teach you?

[She's too dense for that. Right's probably been flirting for months and she hasn't caught on.]

[She frowns at the feed for a while, and nods.]

I'd be glad for your help. I should learn on my own, as well, but... A jump start can't hurt.

[Rei will keep her opinions of Right to herself...]

[She works her mouth silently for a moment and then nods.]

Y...yeah, you're right. I. Guess I'll head to Hikawa Shrine, then?

No. Meet me at the South Gate.

[Rei's already hauling her butt up, okay.]

I don't want to make a mess at the Shrine, and getting you more comfortable outside is what needs to happen.
