1st Tentacle - Action

[Anyone out and about in the streets of Union today will probably see a rather strange looking girl with tentacles for hair, walking along and looking rather carefree as she talks to the Tympole she's carrying along with her in a fishbowl, held securely by two of those tentacles as she swings her arms out to her sides.]

It's a good thing those earthquakes finally stopped, huh, Swimmy?  But that's what happens when humans go around poking their beaks where they don't belong!  I'd be squidding mad too if they put a bunch of big dumb machines down in the ocean.

[The Tympole hangs on her every word, nodding its head, its tail wagging back and forth in its bowl as she talks.]

I guess we'll put off the inkvasion for a squiddle bit longer.  I ink they've learned their lesson this time.

[This isn't a strange thing to hear out of this girl's mouth.  Ever since she washed up on the beach about a year ago as an Inkay Shifter, she's been going on and on about 'inkvasions' and how she's going to lead the Pokemon of the ocean to glorious victory over the humans.  In reality, she's been living in Union ever since and freeloading off a family who felt bad for her and took her in.  Not that that's stopped her from spouting off her silly rhetoric.]

So what do you want to eat for dinner tonight?  I'm in the mood for Corphish!

[Oh hey look, it's that nice lady with the sword who takes pity upon her and plays with her sometimes encourages her. And she's with her Kirlia, Takeshi, too. They probably aren't doing anything important.]

[Only Squid Girl herself is ever doing anything important. She's self-absorbed that way. So when she sees Sakura, she jogs on over to bother her see what she's doing, waving a hand in the air.]

[Rise's familiar with the Shifter by now, and kind of fond of her. The Ralts following Rise around today looks a bit more appropriately confused.]

[She's very endearing once you learn how to deal with her, as scary as she likes to try to be.]

[The ridiculous one with all the terrible fish puns and no melody? The fifth one she's sent her this month alone?]

It was very nice. Unfortunately, I don't have much input into what I get to perform, and you know how studio types are.

[Financially interested in her not embarrassing herself, for one.]

[Himiko just sort of looks back and forth between the two girls, possibly wondering how someone got tentacles to look like a hairstyle.]

I can talk to them and jet the record straight. Just say the word!

[Those tentacles are just sort of lazily waving around in the breeze right now.]

[Elly opens her mouth, a little uncertainly at what she's seeing. She has never encountered Squid Girl before. She doesn't really know what to make of the young Shifter. She stares for a moment, then she tilts her head to the side. Her expression screws up a little, before she finally waves a hand.]

[It's the only reaction that makes sense to her at the moment.]

...Hi? [She tilts her head to the side again.] Are... you... what's an inkvasion?

[That's a pretty common reaction, especially when people see her tentacles. She's used to it by now.]

I'm Squid Girl, emissary of the sea! I was going to inkvade humanity for dumping trash in the oceans and disrespecting its gifts, but I've decided to give you all a pass for now.

[Well... that's good, right? They get a pass for polluting the ocean, which Elly can agree is simply terrible. Her expression screws up a little as she looks down at Squid Girl, though. She puts her fingers to her chin while she inspects her, thoughtfully.]

[Someone frowns nearby as Squid Girl converses with her Tympole.]

Do you speak in jest? Such matters are of more serious import than you know...

That is not so reassuring as you may believe it to be, I fear. In these uncertain times, idle words may be taken with ill reception.

Although...

If you stand here on land before me, have you not already inkvaded?

[Ace was walking down the street with his Litwick, Candle, when he noticed this strange girl walking in the opposite direction. He turned around and walked over to her because he was actually quite interested in her, and that inkvasion thing, what is that?]

Wow, your hair is really cool, and what's an inkvasion?

It's not hair. These are my tentacles!

[She waves them around in the air to demonstrate.]

And an inkvasion is when I lead my army of Water Pokemon into glorious combat.

[to say he's surprised about her hair would be an understatement, he's standing there with his mouth hanging open and staring at the tentacles move around]

Why do you want to inkvade us though? and I think it wouldn't be much fun for me to be a part of that so let me know when it happens! Though combat against water Pokemon sounds like it could be a good challenge

[And in that moment Ace's Candle (a Litwick) decided that he was pretty interested in those tentacles, and started getting closer to them]

Well, I don't. Not right now, anyway. But if the humans disrespect the ocean and its gifts, they'd better watch out!

[Unfortunately, Squid Girl hasn't noticed what Candle is up to yet. She's not very observant. This is likely to end in a singed tentacle.]

....D-Dinner? [That was a whole lot of information given to him all at once, sorry. He doesn't do well with communicating, you know.]

Tonight I'm having tempura rice.. as well as figuring out these new Pokemon's diets.. [...] Speaking of those earthquakes, I'm rather interested in learning what Pokemon were severely effected..

[That's her favorite food! Which trumps any acknowledgement that he asked her any question whatsoever about the earthquakes.]

Pokemon are his friends, of course, but just like many species Bertholdt wasn't against eating them.] Yes.. It gives the dish the best taste..

[Mind you, all of his catches are precaught fish from the market.. He could never hunt for himself, he's to sensitive.] You could always have Corphish rolls.
