Something we saw in that... memory? Vision? I'm not sure what the word is.

[Estelle sighs. The way the gods appeared to them is still a mystery and she's not sure how to explain it. They might never know, exactly, she realizes.]

In the one we saw... the people there had one of those devices Gigas uses to contain Pokemon. They got one of the gods with it, I think, and sealed them inside at the end. I... don't like the idea that something like that could be out there.

We might wanna start taking notes about what people saw. I think headquarters will wanna know, and... uh, if they can compare it to the things we saw, that might be good, right?

[She's a little unsure about that. Taking extensive notes and compiling reports isn't Estelle's specialty. She usually gets the materials they write reports with. But, there's nothing to retrieve, this time.]

[Estelle's taking some time off. The events of the mission are still weighing on her mind and making her worry. At the moment, she's taking a walk through the forest, because getting away from the crowds in Union feels like a good way to do that. And taking a walk...]

[That's an easy way to try to take her mind elsewhere.]

[Adol the Flareon is pacing afterward, keeping an eye on her while she walks. She's lost in thought, which means she might walk into a tree. Or a person.]

That people can make Pokemon. And use them for... for awful stuff.

Created, Born, Human, Pokemon - the experiences are different, but we're all alive. That pain... the pain on it's face was just as real as our pain.

[He slams his fist into something off-screen, giving off a loud, wooden thump.]

I can't forgive anyone that would use living things as weapons!

[While his teeth may be clenched, his eyes are tearing up]

Whoa! Whoa, hey, Sinbad, it's okay...

[That comes out a little more hurried than she planned, because she's trying to be calming all of a sudden. Her surprised look turns into something sadder and she nods.]

It's... it's not right, what they did. No one should be used like that. And I think they're... that might have been why the gods turned on humans.

[He almost starts as she tries to calm him down, eyes blinking like a Hoothoot, taking deep breaths of his own as Badr can be heard off-screen]

Sorry... It's just, that kind of thing we saw is something I never wanted to see again. What's worse is that it's likely because of That Organization that everything had gone so horribly wrong in the past, and so many had gotten hurt.

...yeah. And what they did... it might have made people decide to escalate, thinking it'd protect them, and then...

[She frowns. And then the gods turned on humanity and punished them.]

You... you've seen things like this before?

Humans were nearly wiped out, and this new world was built upon the old.

[Sinbad considers how to answer the question, and if he should. Then he decided, yes. It might come up eventually]

I'm from the Archipelago, right? Not unified, lot of city-states and the like, some places are pretty peaceful, but there's others had never gotten along. My home city - Parthevia is one of those. It's been at war with a neighboring one for several decades, and it's not doing well.

[He takes a moment to let that sink in]

To cut to the chase, every man over the age of twelve and their pokemon are expected to die for this stupid stalemate war, and everyone else is expected to give up everything to keep the army mobilized.

[Estelle's eyes widen. She knows about war; she hates it. War took her mother from her, and she can never let that go. She grew up in Caldera, and they've had conflict with Gigas for decades. But it never went that far.]

[That's... unimaginable. So many people who never got to grow up. Never have childhoods. She feels like she might cry or throw up, just trying to imagine it.]

[She looks to the side, visibly shaken.]

I... I'm sorry, Sinbad. I had no idea. But... you got away, didn't you?

It wasn't so young originally, but they keep running out of men.

[He shook his head, smiling - trying to get her thoughts from dwelling on the details too much]

Yep - and I really humiliated them - they'll be putting ice on their bruised egos before they try to do anything else.

That kind of system... [No wonder they ran out of men. She frowns, still; this bothers her, but the attempt at reassurance at least gets her moving on from it. And the remark, too.]

Good. They deserved it. It's... something we should find a way to stop, somehow.

[He suppresses a mischievous snicker, but he trails off as if recalling something that's far less unpleasant]

[Sinbad straightens up, almost ramrod - taking a deep breath]

[It takes her a second to make the shift; she blinks, then she nods.]

I had always toyed with the idea of joining but - after this. I definitely want to join up.
