[Action; Verdant Forest]

[Anyone traveling in the Verdant Forest today may happen upon Jinxie in the midst of trying to train one of her Pokemon.  Trying being the operative word here.]

It's okay, Grace... here, try again.

[Jinxie walks over to help her poor clumsy little Mienfoo up off the ground.  Also there is Swag the Scrafty, wearing sunglasses and leaning up against a tree trying to look cool.  He's here for moral support, which means lowering his shades every so often to wink at Grace and Jinxie and mostly just not being very helpful at all.  Anyone who watches for any amount of time will see Grace stumble and trip and fall and crash into trees while trying to perform flying kicks, interspersed between awkward but well-meaning pep talks from Jinxie and the occasional flirtatious gesture from Swag.  These Pokemon have no idea what they're doing at all.]

[Eventually, they break for the day, and Jinxie decides to take her problem to the airwaves.  She does wait until Grace is out of earshot, though, to spare the poor thing's feelings.]

Um... I need some help.  What do you do when you're trying to train a Pokemon that doesn't really seem to be getting any better at anything?  She's learning new moves and stuff, but... she's really clumsy, and I don't know what to do.  I've always been bad with Fighting types, but I really want to try to help this time.  Does anybody have any advice?

[ You know Melaka would do her usual thing of showing up in a tree and being all shady and then give advice but...

She's doing her own practice right now, she's practicing riding. Specifically, riding atop the back of an very dashingly heroic looking Dunsparce who has a blue and red cap billowing next to his wings which keeps getting in her face as they dart around the forest. And between his confidence and her own lack of vision at the moment-

There's a good chance Melaka and Dokudoku might be barging into this unannounced. In a crashing sense ]

[Poor Grace's reflexes just aren't good enough to get out of the way in time, but fortunately Swag is on the job and manages to grab her and jump clear of the dynamic duo as they come crashing into the scene. Jinxie, for her own part, screams and dives for cover, covering her head protectively.]

[ Annnnd! Touchdown! The Dunsparce gives a little bit of a noise of... triumph? Indignation? It's a little hard to tell, because Dunsparce. Still, Melaka huffs a bit and - oh, wait ]

Sorry 'bout that!

[ She hasn't noticed who she nearly ran over ]

[somnambulatory]

[Jinxie slowly rises from where she'd been cowering, still a bit shaken.]

U-um... that's okay...

[makeitquick]

Oh gosh - Jinxie? [ That's... unfortunate... ]

[somnambulatory]

Uh huh.

[Don't mind her as she dusts off her clothes. Swag also comes back over, still carrying Grace for a few moments before setting her down.]

Um... what was all of that just now?

This guy's a new comrade of mine. We were trying out riding.

[ Dunsparce being big enough for it and all. She pats the guy twice more...

And then the Dunsparce speaks up now, to be dignified, and apologize to the thrown off trio here. He did not mean! To frighten thee! ]

[somnambulatory]

It's all right. I know you didn't mean it.

[Swag huffs and postures a bit after setting Grace down. You're just lucky the girls didn't get hurt. What kinda man tramples a couple of cute girls like these, anyway?]

[ And this is where Melaka is bucked off of Dukuduku's back. Because he needs to get up onto his hind... tail. And then crouch over in a little bow. Because... he's right! He's precisely right!

...It's contradicted a bit by Melaka landing on her ass here, but still ]

[Well, at least he understands. Swag seems mollified. Jinxie can't help but giggle just a bit.]

...It looks like you two have been training a lot too.

Only always. [ As she gets up from her butt. Dusting herself off and rolling her shoulders to make sure nothing got thrown out of socket. ]

This guy's a big "hero" guy.

[ Naturally! We're here to spread good will and the strength of all living beings!

... And his cape blows a bit in the not-wind ]

He should wear a mask.

[This is said with much more confidence than Jinxie usually musters.]

Why a mask?

[ She says this, a bit confused.


But then Dukuduku asks it more genuinely ]

Heroes with masks are always cooler and more mysterious.

[ Dukuduku prims at this, arching both of his brows and standing up on his hind... tail. Why, he never!

"No! A cape is the cornerstone of one's heroism! To wear a mask... that would be to show one has something to hide, and I do not!" ]

[somnambulatory]

But if you don't wear a mask, then your enemies will always know who you are! What if they come for revenge?

[makeitquick]

[ "Then I shall live the life of a hero without ceasing! That is the true responsibility one needs to embrace!" ]

... Wait, what's he on about now?

[somnambulatory]

He doesn't agree.

Uh... huh. So how'd you even get there?

[somnambulatory]

There in the conversation? I don't speak it, remember?

He says he doesn't want to wear a mask because he has nothing to hide, and that he'll just have to stay vigilant at all times.

What's that gotta do with anything?

[ No seriously. She looks at Jinxie and then her Dunsparce, and then bops him in the face ]

I don't know. I guess he just doesn't feel the same way about it.

[ She looks deeply incredulously at Dukuduku. And then at Jinxie. And then decides to just let it go ]
