[Anyone traveling in the Verdant Forest today may happen upon Jinxie in the midst of trying to train one of her Pokemon.  Trying being the operative word here.]

It's okay, Grace... here, try again.

[Jinxie walks over to help her poor clumsy little Mienfoo up off the ground.  Also there is Swag the Scrafty, wearing sunglasses and leaning up against a tree trying to look cool.  He's here for moral support, which means lowering his shades every so often to wink at Grace and Jinxie and mostly just not being very helpful at all.  Anyone who watches for any amount of time will see Grace stumble and trip and fall and crash into trees while trying to perform flying kicks, interspersed between awkward but well-meaning pep talks from Jinxie and the occasional flirtatious gesture from Swag.  These Pokemon have no idea what they're doing at all.]

[Eventually, they break for the day, and Jinxie decides to take her problem to the airwaves.  She does wait until Grace is out of earshot, though, to spare the poor thing's feelings.]

Um... I need some help.  What do you do when you're trying to train a Pokemon that doesn't really seem to be getting any better at anything?  She's learning new moves and stuff, but... she's really clumsy, and I don't know what to do.  I've always been bad with Fighting types, but I really want to try to help this time.  Does anybody have any advice?

Uh huh. She practices hard every day. I don't know what else to do for her besides trying to be encouraging.

[ You know Melaka would do her usual thing of showing up in a tree and being all shady and then give advice but...

She's doing her own practice right now, she's practicing riding. Specifically, riding atop the back of an very dashingly heroic looking Dunsparce who has a blue and red cap billowing next to his wings which keeps getting in her face as they dart around the forest. And between his confidence and her own lack of vision at the moment-

There's a good chance Melaka and Dokudoku might be barging into this unannounced. In a crashing sense ]

[Poor Grace's reflexes just aren't good enough to get out of the way in time, but fortunately Swag is on the job and manages to grab her and jump clear of the dynamic duo as they come crashing into the scene. Jinxie, for her own part, screams and dives for cover, covering her head protectively.]

[ Annnnd! Touchdown! The Dunsparce gives a little bit of a noise of... triumph? Indignation? It's a little hard to tell, because Dunsparce. Still, Melaka huffs a bit and - oh, wait ]

Sorry 'bout that!

A beginner's dance class or gymnastics class might be able to help. Other than that though, I don't have any specific ideas.

Do they teach those kinds of classes for Pokemon?

Never really had a reason to look, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did, honestly.

[ That seems like a good starting point. And from the muffled sounds behind Haruka - namely, of something going "Vee!" and then falling down the stairs - she can probably relate. ]

Uh huh. She wants to get good at it and be like the other Mienfoo from the mountains. She tries hard every day.

[ Hm. That's a good question, then. Michiru is probably better-equipped to answer it, but Haruka started this, she'll finish it. ]

Maybe their fighting style doesn't suit her....She might need customized moves.

Coordination and balance training, the very basics of martial arts. Stop by Yashio Dojo and enroll her in some of our basic classes. If I can't help, Master Yashio can. He taught me and my Hitmonchan just about everything we know about fighting.

Oh, I didn't know there were schools like that for Pokemon... I guess it makes sense, though, since we run one here for Ghost types.

[He's out and about as usual, and from atop a tree he notices them training. But that Meinfoo really isn't getting it. He watches for a good couple of minutes, before finally hopping down and saying hello, to start.]

Hi! Sorry to interrupt but...I was watching you guys. Training, huh?

[Grace's reaction is, predictably, to stumble back and fall on her butt in surprise. Swag gives a little laugh and walks over to help her up as Jinxie greets their guest.]

Oh... um, yeah. Did you see all of that?

Yeah, I think your pokémon has still a few things to learn about martial arts.

[Rei's out for a walk, heading generally southward, when she happens to hear a familiar voice. It's been a bit since she really got to spend time with Jinxie, so she'll divert her path through the forest to intersect with her friend her Froslass and Gardevoir following like lady's in waiting.

And it's an interesting scene she comes across.]

Hello, Jinxie-chan. Hard at work?

[Jinxie turns to nod at Rei as she's helping Grace up for the umpteenth time. Swag just peers at her over his glasses and gives a cool little upnod. Llllllllllllladies.]

Uh huh. Grace wanted to come out to do some training.
