02 - Video
[ And here we have Dick sitting on his bed again with his warp band. But this time instead of a Growlithe beside him there seems to be a small Skiploom in his lap. And when we say small she's small. Probably less the half of the average size for a Skiploom. And she clearly looks very shy, trying to hide herself from the camera as Dick gives her a few words of encouragement before speaking to the warp band. ]
So hey, I have a few questions. First--
[ he picks up Pip so she can be seen more clearly on the camera. She uses her tiny little arms to hide her face but her size can still clearly be seen. ]
This is Pip. When I first bonded with her I thought her size was because she was a really young Hoppip but she didn't grow at all before evolving into a Skiploom.
[ He lowers her so she can feel comfortable again in his lap. ]
And as you can see as a Skiploom she's still really small. I think she only gained two or three inches in height. Can anyone tell me the average height of a Skiploom so I can compare? Also, how many of you also have Pokemon who are a bit different from the rest of their kind? How whelmed are they about their differences?
Just you know, a few questions for curiosity's sake.

Video
Right, there was something else he wanted to talk to Dick about. ]
Completely unrelated, have you found a clear space?
[ Also, its totally the warp band's video that makes his hair look a tiny bit shiner than usual. Totally that. ]
Video
[ But enough about that when Duke mentions the other thing ]
Yeah! I found a nice spot just nearby the park I think we could use.
[ He raises an eyebrow at the shiny hair. Hm. Gonna have to bring that up when they see each other in person. ]
Video
... Ought to be good around now? Or say, half hour from?
[ To give time to find the place and also find which notebook is good for notes, get all the pokemon fed and explained to- ]
Video
[ Gives them both time to prepare and get there yep ]
I'll see you there!
[ And see if it's just the screen making your hair shiny or if your hair is actually shiny! ]
Video -> action
[ Duke isn't entirely sure which side of the park he ought to be on, but well, he's distinctive enough.
He has a drifloon with a basket of notebook and pencils, and his other pokemon are hanging around him. ]
action
Dick has Robin perched on his shoulder with his other three Pokemon hanging around him. He also has a few supplies of his own to help with the experiment.
When they do meet up though, Dick can't help but grin. ]
Did you change your conditioner recently?
[ Obviously not but hey there's no harm in poking a little fun right. ]
action
Conditioner, I generally-
[ Wait. Blink once, because Laulyse is snickering. ]
No, I haven't. [ And he's wearing gloves today too, when he usually doesn't. Weird, isn' it. ]
Any first combinations?
action
And I see you're wearing gloves. Did your evolution did something to your hands as well?
[ Since as an analyst he can tell the real thing. ]
Hmm... Well we could always start with trying to make a fire tornado. And if it goes wrong you have a water Pokemon that can douse any flames, don't you?
action
Not much, but enough to distract me. [ He does blink at the gloves once when he indicates a blue frog like creature. ]
Sulion can. [ And here Duke turns to the purple balloon. ]
Gust or Ominous Wind?
action
Good. And I'd probably go with gust. We can play around with the ghost typing later.
action
[ Basic information, without going "my nails are turning silver". But yes, moves. Duke nods, looking over their clear space. ]
... Depending on the strength of the fire type move you choose, it would be hard to get the result to stay still if we tried something head on...
[ Probably would be smarter to stand on one side and make the moves meet in a V, right? ]
action
[ Since it's so long and thick do you ever cut it. ]
Only fire move Ace knows right now is Ember so head on wouldn't be a wise choice.
[ Making the moves meet in a V would probably work though. ]
action
[ He trims the ends, and keeps his bangs more or less out of his eyes. More than that? Never. ]
Definitely not. We'll stand over here, and Sulion can stay between us.
[ Muddy Water has a rather nice range. Duke takes a couple steps over, retrieving his basket and one of the notebooks in it. ]
On three, rather than after three, ready?
[ The drifblim whistles cheerfully as Duke gets ready to take notes.
You can count, Dick. ]
action
[ Would be a little easier to hide it under those. ]
Sounds like a plan.
[ Dick follows and after making sure Ace understands what he needs to do nods his head. ]
Ready! One.... two... three!
[ And off goes Ember! ]
action
Duke is taking notes without looking down, this might be a bad idea. ]
... Myorzo, can you get Gust to spin a little? Arc in a curve that might not be expected, or would you need help for that?
[ The balloon bobs in place, thinking, then chirps a maybe. ]
... Try number two?
action
You don't have any moves that can help, but go over there and try flapping your wings. Maybe some wind from another direction will help.
[ The Fletchling nods his head and flies over to where directed. He starts flapping his wings to do what his trainer said. ]
action
... If we cannot get it to spin in place, trying to see how much of a wall we can get... [ Wall of Fire, scribbled on the edge of the page.
Duke indicates that Myorzo ought to work with the Fletchling a little, and now it is time for try number two! ]
action
Hmm, good idea. And if it doesn't work this time we can always come back and try this again with a different angle that we couldn't get to this time around.
[ For example once one of them gets a Pokemon with Fire Spin or something.
But as for the current one it does seem like they might be getting something of s wall of fire going. ]
