011 [Video, forward dated to Feb.8th when the network is back on]
[Pamela's warp band flicks on, but it doesn't show her. Instead, one can see her Gabite, Parsley. He's whimpering because he's been hearing an argument between Trainer and Trainer's Parents, and it's upsetting him. He's a fussy soul who likes things just so, and he does not like this conflict. Everyone with a Warp Band can hear the tail end of the argument.]
Gaaa-biiiiiiite.
[Parsley's displeased whine can be heard before a stern male voice.]
I mean it, Pamela. No more gallivanting about. Your uncles are dead and so are your older cousins. That leaves me as the heir to this family and you are my heir.
[Pamela cuts in, just barely keeping the frustration in her voice under control.]
We were attacked here. The best thing I can do for this family is be the strongest Enlightened that I can be so that I can protect everyone.
[It's then that Pamela's mother speaks up, sounding tired.]
Pammy, just stop. Perfect your antivenin with your friend Ami and then we're going to find you a husband so you can continue the Isley line and that's final. Stop arguing about it. Your father and I can't deal with this right now.
[It's then that Pamela notices her warp band is on. She gives her fussy Gabite a pat.]
Well, this definitely isn't how we wanted to announce the news to Union. I'm sorry you all had to see that.
[The feed cuts out a moment later.]

You know... I have an hour long lunch break coming up here on my shift soon, why don't you and I go out, my treat?
[If only to give Pamela a chance of privacy and a chance to vent.]

I'd like that, Ami. Thank you.

Pamela, I um... [Man, how does she talk about this?] Is there anything I can do to help you out?

[She'd throw herself into her research as per usual, but there are a lot more family demands pulling her away. She almost suspects that's where some of her father's sternness is coming from. As an Engineer, throwing himself into work is his default as well. Only he has to take up the responsibilities of the heir of the Isley household now - something that was never an issue for the fourth-born Isley son. And he only has one child.
When she thinks about it, Pamela can understand a bit of what might be going through her parents' heads, but that doesn't mean she has to like it.]
Voice
[The chance to get away from all this family drama.]
I think Parsley would like to go on a walk if you'd like to meet us.
Voice
[Uh...would buying some plant seeds help??] Shall I meet up with you?

I'm very sorry for your loss. The attacks on Union were... an incalculable tragedy.
[He smiles, though it's sad and restrained; this is not a time for smiles. It's reassuring, not mirthful.]
But, I think you are correct, for what it is worth. Your talents are considerable, and I think the people of Union would be grateful for your service, Pamela.
Savior, Pamela, I've been stuck in this bed for about a million years... Like, what good is being safe if I'm gonna die anyway of boredom? You've gotta come over and save me from it going that far, it's a total emergency!

[Familiar. Away from home. A place where they can have academic discussions. All perks in Pamela's book.]
Voice
[Because oh wow does she ever not want to talk about her impending familial responsibilities.]
video
[The smile does help, as does having an "adult" - she may be one herself, but she's still a very young adult and her parents seem intent on reminding her of that lately despite her achievements.]
I understand why they're worried, but I couldn't have managed to be helpful at all if I hadn't been training, learning, and striving to be as strong as possible all of this time.
Well, we certainly can't have that. I'll rescue you from your ennui immediately.
Voice
Where are you right now? Is it near the place I went to the last time?

[He nods, thoughtfully.]
I think one who wields them knows the best way to maintain them and focus them, for greater use.
---> [Action]
Ami herself looks... awful. She's pulling 80 and 90 and sometimes even 100 hours at the medical center with so many injured and hurt. She would sleep for ten minutes, an hour, five minutes, sometimes she would just close her eyes and that would be all the sleep she would get. She had bags under eyes and her hands were shaking from the amount of coffee she was drinking.
She sees Pamela and hurries over to her, reaching out to hold her hand.]
[Wine. Grapes. Basically the same thing. Sort of.]
video
[Her powers aren't really meant for battle, and if her parents had only asked that she stay out of battles as much as possible and stuck to diplomacy work and continuing to help other societies with their agriculture, that would have been fair enough. But to ask her to stay out of things entirely was just wrong in her opinion.]
With so much damage to Union, I can't just stand by when I can help restore the plantlife that was destroyed so much faster than it could ever grow on its own.
video
[And he is, genuinely, impressed. Even if he thinks that they could also be used to cause better harm -- impaling them with naturally grown spikes and even more, with some of her power.]
I think you're correct to use your power to help, then. And... I think all of Union will be grateful for it. The people appreciate what the Enlightened do for them.

You know, if you want to be able to better take care of others, you need to allow yourself a full day to rest and recuperate.
[She appreciates that Ami is here for her, more than she can really articulate in words, but now she's concerned for her friend's health.]

We're too short staffed even with all the extra help from the other cities. [She was also pretty hoarse from barking out orders for supplies, potions, berries, and everything in between.]
When things get less hectic I'll rest. [Or she'll collapse, whichever came first.]
