Party Like It's Your Birthday [OPEN!] [Mingle-friendly]
Who: Feliks and anyone and everyone!
What: Big fancy noble birthday party!
When: November 11th
Where: The Łukasiewicz family estate in Union
Summary: Missing Boyfriend Quest kept Feliks from fulfilling his social duties, so for his birthday, his grandparents are shoving him back into noble society! But that's boring, so Feliks invited the ill-bred masses to come and make his birthday party actually fun.

It's been a long time since Feliks put in much of an appearance at any kind of noble function. When was the last time? Lux's birthday, maybe? Ages ago.
Now that his main reason for being away all the time is gone, though, his grandparents made it pretty immediately clear that he isn't going to get out of his social obligations forever. And what better opportunity than his birthday to throw a party and get him back into the whole noble thing? It's sort of like they're trying to re-debut him to Polite Society or something, he thinks.
Of course, Feliks doesn't care much for Polite Society, as much as he cares for his noble friends, so he's taken the liberty of inviting everyone else to come and keep him entertained. More guests mean more presents anyway, right?
The Łukasiewicz family might not be quite as prominent as some of the bigger, richer noble families, but they rather famously never do anything by halves. Every cobweb has been cleared out of the old ancestral residence that his grandparents stay in, every inch of marble and gold and mahogany in the place polished to a brilliant shine. Flickering candles and glittering overhead chandeliers light the entirety of the estate with a warm glow, from the elaborate ballroom down to the quieter sitting rooms and balconies, and there are lush floral arrangements everywhere, set into vases or twined around pillars and draped over doorways. A large orchestra is set up in the ballroom (which is left otherwise rather open to encourage people to dance), where they're alternating familiar dance tunes with a surprising number of adapted songs from Calderan and Citadel music, even one or two from as far off as Sanctuary or Glacier. Wherever people aren't dancing, a number of humanoid Pokemon in snazzy little butler outfits are wandering around with trays of drinks and fancy little hors d'oeuvres, offering them to anyone who looks thirsty, hungry, or in need of something to do with their hands. (The Gardevoirs are particularly adept at singling out people who need something.) A Blissey at the door (his grandfather's, Feliks thinks?) seems to be in charge of greeting everyone and taking their coats for them.
The guest of honor is dressed relatively conservatively (for him) this evening -- though for Feliks, all that means is that he felt more like wearing pants than a skirt this time. He is still wearing a wine-red tailcoat over a ruffly cream-colored shirt and a gold brocade waistcoat, with gold trim on his tight brown breeches and knee-length boots that have a bit more heel than is strictly considered normal for a man. (What good is "normal" anyway, right?) There are moments when he looks a little overwhelmed by all the people, but with several good friends in attendance, he's able to largely keep it together and enjoy himself, mingling with his friends and dancing with anyone who so much as stands close enough to the dance floor to get dragged in.
[[OOC: Going to put up a couple of headers for different areas of the party; feel free to use this as a mingle post and interact with each other!]]

[Feliks burst into glitter again at the sight of his friend, waltzing right over and taking him by the arm in a comradely fashion.]
Is it like, not customary in Sanctuary or something?
no subject
It is, but with so many students in the city we try to keep the gifts practical. I wasn't sure what to pick out for a fashion-conscious Unionite...
no subject
And you totally know what I think of "practical." What'd you get me? Like, can I open it?
no subject
Note to self: invent an anti-glitter spell.]
I'm not sure what you'll think of it...it might be too practical for you...
[But, there would be no denying that it was at least cute.]
no subject
Are you for real? This is super cute! I totally love it!
no subject
[Was that an oddly pleased smile on the dour young man's face? It sure was!]
no subject
[Okay, so that was the standard to try and beat from now on!]
Defs! I'm like, gonna wear it around all the time.
no subject
But the smile didn't fade quite yet, as Feliks' words were oddly reassuring to hear. It was nice to know that even a kid like him, who had grown up on the wrong side of town, could pick out something that a far more fashionable individual could enjoy.]
--I'm glad you like it, [he replied, shyly.] A carry bag is always useful, and the bright flowers made me think of you.
no subject
[Grinning from ear to ear himself, he slung the bag across his shoulder, obviously intending to start wearing it right that moment.]
The flowers are totally fab. And I have, like, a ton of stuff I can carry around in here, you know?
no subject
no subject
Plus, you know, food and tools and whatever.
no subject
[Because he could totally see Feliks carrying around small conveniences like that-- he had to be fashionable even out in the wilderness.]
no subject
...I mean, I do now, yeah!
[He smiles a little too brightly and without quite enough sparkles, trying to gloss over the implied admission that he hadn't been doing it before.]
[(Nothing unnecessary, before Fai came home. Nothing that would slow him down, or take up space that could be used for food and water that could keep him out there searching just a little bit longer.)]
no subject
Well, I hope it's something that'll help you!
no subject
Yeah, for sure! I'm gonna use it like, all the time, like I said!
no subject
That....that's actually a pretty nice compliment. I'm glad you like it!
no subject
[He throws his arms around Waver in an impulsive gesture of friendly affection.]
no subject
[Waver let out a startled yelp at the sudden affection-- he still wasn't quite used to such things. But he carefully squeezed Feliks back, glad to have a friend who would go and do things like this without warning.]
no subject
I'm gonna get you something super good for Salvation, too!
no subject
[His ears were burning furiously at the sudden sparkles an attention.]
I'll find you something nice for that holiday too!
no subject
no subject
Thanks. You don't have to...but I'm looking forward to seeing what this holiday brings. It's another new thing-- and I imagine that Union puts the effort into Salvation that you do for everything else.
[That is to say, a ton of effort and energy that would make most other cities immensly jealous.]
no subject
[He had a lot of fun in Caldera with the Day of Fire, and sort of hopes they can try other fun things from outside of Union like that!]
no subject
[And he'd be lying if he said that he didn't hope to experience many more of these holidays and traditions during his time in Union.
It really was a wonderful place to be in the world, and a wonderful time to be alive.]
no subject
And you have, like, the best ever guides to help tell you about everything! Totally lucky.
