I hope that everyone is recovering from the recent ordeal. It was worrisome, to say the very least. Nonetheless, it seems that some benefit may have been derived from it, at least.

Has anyone successfully done one of these new evolutions?

[Yeah... here's why she did text. She doesn't trust herself to not get emotional talking to Kyouko about this.]

I saw it in my memories. Inside of that cave that the others went inside of. Not the real thing.

[Mami promised that she would stop by Junes. She wants to go see it, besides; she could stand to buy a few things, especially a few things from home. But her friend boyfriend it's complicated really there's not a good word for him special cute buddy Yosuke works here. And that is more than enough reason to get her here.]

[You might find her browsing the aisles, looking over the various goods. Especially some of the clothing. Winter is coming, after all, and she means to be ready for it. But she's also looking for Yosuke, peering about all parts of the store.]

[And later, she's sitting down at a table in the cafe portion, sipping tea. Because of course she is!]

Mm. I like that thought.

[She nods once.] It certainly feels right.

Even if it isn't right, there's nothing wrong with thinking that way. Not after what Suicune said about preparing us.

I agree. That the gods have shown such an interest... I don't know that I fully trust them. But it speaks to the gravity of what we're doing. That's destiny, or close enough.

You shouldn't worry too much, I think. Or trust them too much either. I mean...we don't know that much about them.

[She finishes her tea.]

Not just mine, but yeah. I guess I do. I think it's Fate. I like to imagine him as the kind of bugger who's really got it in for a lot of people.

Well, I gotta make sure I got my friends back after all! I'm not one to abeardon them. [Anyone can count on him! Though in some cases, he can only be counted on at a safe distance.]

Going on vacations after a hard work week is also nice! Though I think we won't be taking one again anytime soon. [Not after what happened last time.]

[Mami nods. They need more information, and she can't make that happen now. And if Mami's good at anything... it's pushing aside her worry. She sips her tea, then she smiles.]

Mm. Yes! I must commend Junes on their fine selection.

Hmm. I suppose I can see that. But, is fate personified? Or simply an inexplicable force within the universe that couldn't care less?

Your friends? Yosuke, or someone else?

[She tilts her head at that, but then she smiles. Really, she was worried about Teddie at first -- she heard about the Topsicles -- but he seems... nice. Perhaps prone to accidents. Or eating entire freezers.]

A vacation is nice. But, you can't take too many. They would lose their luster, wouldn't they?

Kinda makes you wonder if it'll overtake local markets soon, with this kind of selection.


[Smalltalk again, but still something to think about...]

It might, but... everyone enjoys their local products, too. I couldn't get by without tea and cookies from Citadel, after all.

Well, it's not like it bothers me too much. Just a thought.

[ He shrugs. ] Can't know for sure. I don't think we'll ever know unless more gods keep popping up. When someone had told me that Union's gone and met some gods, I didn't believe them.

I wasn't so sure myself, at first. [Until that fire god nearly attacked Citadel. That answered that question for her.] ...But there's no doubting it now, is there?

No, there isn't.

[ He drops the can he'd been holding into a plastic bag and starts to hunt for a rag. ]

So, you're not from Union as well?

[She just smiles somewhat vaguely. Not unhappy, at all. What a pleasant person]

[A beat, as she wonders; these more southernly cities don't always know about her people.]

[Mami waves over someone to refill her tea. It seems like a wise idea. Hooray for good, pleasant company!]

Don't think so. I mean, if you haven't heard of us, we, probably, haven't heard of you. Us being Sanctuary, if you haven't figured it. No offense. Er, not that I could blame you. We don't get out much. Magi could be synonymous with 'pasty old men easily affronted by nature'.

Mm. Quite. We're well to the north of you, too... [She nods her head.] We're mostly herders. Tribes that gather around the city of Citadel. It's built upon a tree.

You faced that thing down? Man, I don't even want to know what it was...you are seriously one tough Valkyrie!

[He was scared out of his wits and he's pretty sure he wet himself, but he won't tell her that.]

[That makes Mami crack a smile, and she nods at him.]

Of course I am! It's what I do~. It's not the most frightening thing I've faced, either. [a beat] It's close, though.

Yeah. [He says a little more softly, not without a smile though. He knows she's been through worse, but won't bring that up now.]

You shoulda seen what it did to Junes. It took almost two weeks of cleanup and restocking to get it back to normal! I thought it was gunna take my arm off!
