My mother mentioned off hand a couple of times that my grandmother kept a certain magus company in the evenings, and discovered her own potential that way. Mom never really tried to practice herself-- she didn't approve, for one. So, from the perspective of the older families in Sanctuary, we really don't amount to anything special.
