Yuuna coughed, spluttering a bit as she collected herself, slipping out of the protective bubble Kintsu had erected around her. The Spiritomb had worked out quite a defensive mechanism, positively engulfing her in shadowy energy. It was effective, certainly, and it’d kept her safe from the various attacks that their ambushers had lobbed their way…but that was all. She couldn’t fight against that many of the frogs, and they’d have killed her if she had tried. He’d been doing the right thing, as he saw it.
That didn’t make it sting any less when she realized how stupid she’d been. It’d been months since the last attack, and she’d gone out on a training exercise with just Kintsukuroi and Geshiko to watch over her younger Pokemon. Several of them had been completely useless, and Satsurin had to be recalled to the Habitat to keep her safe. The Jigglypuff had an aggressive streak a mile wide, after all.
And what was worse? They’d taken Geshi. Just…put her in a sack and carried her off while she’d been helpless to stop them. The implication was clear. She was probably going to be killed without intervention, and that didn’t exactly give Yuuna time to go back to Union and get a stronger team. Which meant working with what she had, and that wasn’t much. She had a type disadvantage to overcome with what she had, and the numbers were bad too.
With a shriek of pure rage she slammed her fist into one of the nearby trees, the sound reverberating through the whole grove. She wasn’t going to break down, but she just…needed a minute to formulate a plan.
