Beach Party Log
Who: The people of Union and all their wonderful friends who can be bothered to take a vacation.
Where: The Tropical Island
When: On and off, the second week of June
What: Union's more-than-annual beach party. Open log, tag around!
The sun is shining, the Wingull are squawking, and the beach of the Tropical Island is as beautiful as always. The whole city has more or less been effectively encouraged to come out, especially people who need to recover from the shenanigans in Sanctuary. The air is filled with the sounds and smells of Citadel visitors grilling, the expected murmurs of shock at Calderan fashions hitting the place where they're most practical, and of course, the colorful sights of everyone having a good time. There's lots of places to see and things to do on the island, and now's the time to enjoy them.

For the moment. The water is getting crowded. [she takes a sip of that chilled fruit juice. At least it's appropriately tropical.]
no subject
Everyone needed this. [ And she has the maturity to see the sense in it, instead of getting hung up about how they just stuck their noses where they didn't belong, and now they're at the beach. Distance is what's needed to fix mistakes. Distance and dispassion. Neither of which Union has been very good at. ]
no subject
Let's hope fixing things is as easy as going to the beach, even if there's no sense in brooding endlessly over it.]

Here. [ Extra towel. Having thick hair like that must be a pain when Michiru swims. So consider this her attempt at being a thoughtful partner. ]
no subject
Did you have something in mind?

[she's shaking out the towel with a flourish and laying it off to the side. She's still damp, but at least she's not dripping.j]
no subject
[ She'd say "do what you want", but that might yield Michiru on her lap and, much as she would enjoy the experience, the beach isn't that deserted.... ]
no subject
[her voice is still light, but her eyes flick involuntarily to your arm, and then she's looking determinedly at the ocean again. Just because getting hurt is expected more often than not doesn't mean she has to like it.]
no subject
[ But then she couldn't have noticed Rise and Asemu trying to do the exact same thing. Which is also funny. When it happens to other people. ]
no subject
Oh? What did you have in mind?
[is that a smirk? Either way, that's her hand on top of yours. You're fine, and that's all that matters.]
no subject
...This beach is pleasantly Bradless, however. Could they actually be getting a break? And should they use that break to rest or to "rest"? ]
no subject
I'll hold you to that promise.
[Brad is, at the moment, being babysat by Right. There are certain advantages to being in such an organization.]
no subject
[ The things she'd like to do are best done after dark. ]
no subject
[there is little point in trying to lure you into the water when you've got a bandage on]
no subject
Haruka takes another sip of her drink, rotating the glass. ] I'm open to suggestions.
[ This is nice, though. Just them lazing together, bouncing off each other. This is what she hopes peace feels like when it's achieved for good - if they can allow themselves the indulgence of a hope. ]
no subject
[and if they incidentally find somewhere quieter, so be it.]
no subject
[ Her breath hitches as she stands, putting perhaps a bit too much weight on that arm - but she's also moving slowly since this is a vacation, so that could equally just be an expression of laziness. Either way, though, she's up. Progress. ]
no subject
'Troublesome' is the perfect word for you.]
no subject
There's a somewhat solitary-looking area up this way, isn't there? ]
no subject
I suppose this area of the beach isn't quite as popular. [the crashing of the surf against the rocks is, if anything, louder over here]
no subject
Like so, once Haruka's ventured far enough into the area to consider the two of them properly alone. This is a good view of the ocean, too. As pleasant as it is to watch while placid, watching the water froth on the rocks is more interesting.
As is this hand she's holding. That hand is pretty great. She should draw it closer to herself. ]
no subject
I think most of it is.
[eyes are drawn to the ocean] I don't mind.
[understatement]
no subject
There's something else worth appreciating right here. ]
no subject
A murmur:] Tease.
