((Sorry for the delay, guys! Most of you probably saw, but my computer broke! It couldn't have waited one more day...))

Now you know.

[Aegislash would have been content to leave it at that... but the others seem to have more to add.

As Merrill begins to sing, the ghosts in the vicinity seem to stiffen and grow quite still. Many of them were mischievous and many of them lived -- well, existed -- for nothing more than to prey on the living... but once upon a time, they had been drawn into this existence from the physical realm. Whether spirits of the dead or the manifestation of emotion congregated in the genius loci that had formed in the wake of disaster, a part of them remembered...

It was nice to be reminded, once in a while, that someone else remembered, too.

Aegislash hovers in place without betraying any reaction until the end of the song - not that it was ever very easy to read, considering it was a sentient sword. But as the last notes of Merrill's hymns echo through the haunted ruins, it slowly sheathes its blade back into Shield Forme, the edge of its sword clinking lightly against the shield. ...Perhaps something like a sigh.

Even without an order from their leader, the ghosts quietly begin to disperse. The Chandelure drift back into their rooms, the Shuppet fade slowly into the walls, and the Gengar sink into the floors...
Evidently, they didn't feel up to tormenting the travelers much more. Only the Honedge remain, circling now around their leader. After a pause, Aegislash pivots and points down towards the ruined metal box on the ground floor - in a smooth motion, the Honedge descend, one after another, vanishing back into their home.

Those who yet lived could not understand the intensity of the despair and the regret that was felt in the last moments of a life... but perhaps it was the living who better understood sorrow and pain. The dying, after all, do not have much time to linger on such things.

Several of the Honedge slowly return, bearing something on the flat of their blades. It appears to be an intensely rusty blade... as well as a tattered sack that seems a strong gust of wind away from collapsing. These offerings are borne and offered towards Merrill.]

Now you know... and perhaps you will remember.

...Leave now.

[They will not be assaulted on their way out.]

((That concludes the log! Within the knapsack, they will find one Dusk Stone for each of them as well as a device that can be analyzed to find TM65, Shadow Claw! Thanks for threading guys and sorry again for the delay here!))
