Eighth Sword - Video

[Today's video is brought to by a Frosslass with a pen and a paper.

And several angry Pokémon. They have trapped Martin (with the exception of Brigadier, who is holding the Band) so that the sign Tiria wrote and pinned to his shirt can be read.

Martin, meanwhile, is just so done.]

I have a death wish and tried to stay behind with the Savior in the past and probably die.

Again.

This is the second time I've tried to died since coming back to life.

My Pokémon are not happy.

Am I sufficiently shamed, Boar?

[The Doublade hisses and Brig shuts the Band off.]

[Okay. So Martin was going to get a lecture. This takes the wind right out of Yuuna's sails the instant she sees it.

Both she and the Roselia currently sitting in her lap just start laughing. It's almost uncontrollable, except Martin knows her well enough by now to know she can stop laughing whenever she damn well wants.]

Tiria! You...hah! This is exactly right and I couldn't have put a finer point on it!

[Ankh can't help but chuff in laughter.]

Noble, I guess, in concept, but probably not the greatest idea, no.

Why not? She raises a very, very valid point.

[Bara nods cheerfully, poking her face closer to the camera.]

Barako agrees. You have no idea what could have happened.

The Savior!?

[Yuuna snaps her finger and leans in, moving Roselia aside.]

Martin, that may have been the case and it may not have. If that was real, though, it could have changed things. Feliks may have been a fluke but we don't know. That was selfish on his part, too, and believe me when I say that he's going to get an earful worse than you.

[A huff, an angry one.]

You could have died, yeah. And that would've been a waste.

[I'm sorry. He nearly gets melted by lava by a monster a billion feet tall KILLING EVERYTHING IN ITS PATH and you get to meet the sAVIOR?!]

[If Eiji were a petty person he might be really annoyed by that, but he's not. Instead he's in shock and staring at Martin like a moron.]

Wh.

[What do you even say to that.]

...What was she like?

[ ... ]

No you didn't. There's no such thing.

[ Someone doesn't sound too sure about that statement. ]

Well you certainly got a cool story out of the deal.

If that line of thinking holds water, Martin, then you could just as easily have screwed up the past. By being present, armed and having Pokeballs. And if you'd altered that event? Who's to say she'd have lived to be the Savior.

Who's to say she wouldn't. Too many variables, none good.

But my point is you're kind of an idiot, even if I love you. Stop putting your neck on the line without thinking. There are consequences. Because you don't know and you aren't invincible.

Martin, just because you met a girl in a vision of the past doesn't mean that she's the savior of humanity.

All right, then you certainly got a ~sombering~ and ~educational~ story out of it.

But you met the Savior, which. Even I can admit is nothing to shake a stick at.

[He frowns for a moment.]

I'm not sure if that makes sense or is surprising, really. There were so few specifics.
