"Help us?"

"How can you help?! You're just delaying the inevitable!"

"Mommy, I'm scared..."

"None of this would have happened if Owen was still here!"

The rabble spoke all at once, their voices raising with each proclamation, and with each declaration, the woman's resolve wavered. Clara watched, her head lowered slightly.

Still, she somehow managed to keep it together, holding her hands out to calm the mob. She shook her head. "We don't know much," She started, a deep frown on her face. "Only that he steals the very life from any person he finds. It isn't safe to go outside."

The child watched Yuuna closely as she pulled out a canteen, swallowing hard and biting at his lips. Clara likewise looked at her when she pulled out a box of poffins, doing a better job of hiding her hunger, if only just. She shook her head—she couldn't, not with so many others in much worse shape.

The woman watched as Banzu pulled out the dried berries, catching it, her eyes wide. "Are--are you sure we can have this? Really?" She looked to each one of them, any hardness left in her expression melting away. She looked tired. Opening the package, she bent down, showing it to the child at her side and offering the first bite to him. He took it quickly, shoving an entire piece of dried berry into his mouth and trying his best to savor it.

For the first time in a long time, the woman smiled. "How is it?"

"Really good!"

The tension in the room eased.

"Mira, can you help hand these out? There should be enough to give one to everyone."

A Bellossom peeked out from the group, jumping, then running over to take the package of dried berries. She would get the job done!

With that taken care of, she directed her attention back to the group. "If your last shelter wasn't safe, then feel free to stay with us for a while. Rest if you can; Yveltal hasn't been seen around here for a few days. It's probably better to keep your pokémon in their pokéballs. It will help them conserve energy. But I can understand. I don't use them myself. I haven't for a long time."

"Please, tell us what you've seen. We were sure we were the only survivors, but knowing others are still out there..."

The child sheepishly made his way toward Banzu. He was the berry man. As far as he was concerned, Banzu was the best.
