A fight probably shouldn't be a relief, but it's saved Haruka from having to respond to Yuuna and Isabela's sudden foray into recruiting. Her concerns about Merrill's sudden evolution are also shoved into the back of her mind, and she sinks into a crouch, ready to fight. The opponent possesses unknown powers and complete control of the field, but his Pokémon aren't Bonded. The last time Haruka fought someone who used PokéBalls, taking out the Trainers did a lot to end the fight.

Works for her.

"You can try," she offers, giving him the benefit of the doubt - then charges, leaping into the air for a Flying-type Aerial Ace. She's of most use when in close quarters with the enemy, so she likes to open with something that (in theory) can't miss.

Honchkrow, for his part, thinks up a Dark-Type Nasty Plot. He'll need to be cunning against the Pokémon.
