[The video feed cuts on to a flurry of pink feet and blue-tipped ribbons, and halfway through a terse swear on the part of a one Fletchinder Shifter. For a moment it's quiet and the view is of the ceiling of Hikawa Shrine, before it moves and Ankh's face briefly swims into view before right back out.]
Can you-- knock it off already, I know you're excited. Quit.
[His face swims back into view and he seems to realize belatedly that the thing is showing video, and his expression goes from irritated to absolute horror in negative three seconds.]
--So! There's a Sylveon following me around. Dunno where sh-- it came from. Not mine. Anybody wanna claim her?
[Fluff, for the record, is very much his. She's just evolved from his affectionate Eevee into a Sylveon, and he's mortified of people finding out that he actually cares about her. Aforementioned Sylveon leaps up onto his shoulder and makes a pleased sound, nuzzling his hair.]

Rei enters the room, reaching up to scoop up the tennis ball on her shoulder and pat the odd bird. It’d been more interested in staring at Fluff than anything, and that didn’t really change. It’s big eyes get wider as it stares, like the Sylveon is some sort of puzzle.]
She’s very affectionate. Has she always been like that with you?
[She knows the answer, and that the converse is true, that Ankh is just as sweet to the Eeveelution. But she has to drag it out, make him admit it.]
Action
[He quirks his mouth crooked, and Fluff butts her head up into his hand and nuzzles at it.]
...for the most part, yeah. Just a lot smaller, before.

It reminds me of Casius, in a way. When he was still a Growlithe.
[Her enormous Arcanine is still affectionate, of course. Most of hers are, though.]
When did she evolve? Today?

Yeah. Just before.

She's absolutely adorable, you know. I've never seen a Sylveon up close.

Neither had I, until about twenty minutes ago.

[He looks from her to Rei a few times before scritching at her forehead with two fingers.]

It reminds me. I need to actually let Syrtis decide if she wants to evolve or not. I have a Fire Stone for her but...I haven't really offered.
