Okay, Five-Iron! Hold on!

[On this fine day, Elhaym van Houten is in one of Union's parks. Grass and the occasional tree dot the surroundings. She has her uniform off; this is a day off, so instead, she wears a cream-colored tunic with golden trim on it, and dark blue pants. In her hand, she has a soft balsa wood pole, which swings back and forth. And directly in front of her is her Seedot.]

[He looks like the happiest Seedot ever. He beams, then he hunkers down, his eyes screwing up just a little. Elly swings the balsa wood staff back, and then...]

FORE!

[WHOOSH! The Seedot goes flying into the air, hits the grass with a bounce, and comes to a stop. Elly grins after him while the Pokémon chirps happily.]

It is said in the old world, the 14th of February was a day to celebrate love and beauty. Legend speaks of people preparing great meals for the most beautiful individuals in the city and having elaborate celebrations involving a strange, winged child totem that Union historians haven’t yet managed to decipher the import of. Nonetheless, in order to keep these traditions alive, Union is hosting its annual Beauty Pageant.

In the Pageant, trainers enter with their Pokémon in up to three categories, Skill, Talent, and Beauty. In the Beauty portion, coordinating appearances, outfits, and presentation are key, although there have been some instances of competitors sabotaging each other on the stage in past competitions. Union officials would like to remind all competitors that such behavior is strictly forbidden. Unrelatedly, due to budgetary concerns competition security staff has been cut this year.

The Talent category allows the Pokémon and trainers to showcase special talents or abilities they’ve developed together. Trainers are asked to be careful where they aim these routines, as last time spinning plates took out three judges.

Finally, the Skill category allows trainers and Pokémon to use their special attacks in interesting and unique ways. Trainers are especially warned to be careful with their aim, last year five trainers had to bow out due to second degree burns, to say nothing of the seven trainers who were unable to finish their routines due to paralysis.

[The threads below are open to all players, if you want to take part in one of the pageants feel free to post in the pageant threads. You may also post as a spectator in the designated thread. Pageants are open to Pokémon, human entrants, and duos of Pokémon and trainers working together. A trainer may not have more than one entry into each category. As implied above, the competitions tend to get a bit dirty, feel free to “subtly” attack each other to increase your chances or lessen a rival’s chance of victory.]
