Mission 004 | Action

A: Nightmare

[It's Caldera, but it's subtly older; a district in the northern part of the city, about ten years before. People who've been there before can see the differences: things look a little newer, a couple of buildings aren't built yet. There is, prominently, a very large clock tower visible.]

[Which is when things go wrong. Some sort of attack is underway; there are a few fireballs screeching through the air, smashing down in the middle of a stone plaza. Some humans in armor -- it looks vaguely like Gigas -- can be seen, and there are Pokemon going to and fro, fighting in the city. Then, a large fiery boulder shoots through the air, and smashes into the clocktower. There's a colossal explosion; shrapnel and heated stone rain down every which way.]

[There's the sound of a little girl screaming from inside. Some citizens start pulling rocks off; they get the kid out, but her mother is slumped over, having shielded her from the worst of it. The girl, suffice to say, looks like Estelle, age five.]

[The adult Estelle is standing nearby, watching people pick her up. Her arms are crossed and she looks somber, rather than crushed, for once.]

B: Dream

[It is a perfectly normal day in Union. Everything is sunny and bright! There's Pokemon playing in the streets; people are laughing and being cheerful. And yet, something is different. The ground has a certain... sponginess to it, like bread. Or, perhaps, like cake.]

[Ah, and the walls! Those are sugary -- and graham cracker like. And the creek nearby? Maple syrup flows through it. And the leaves, already turned red and yellow, are made of candy corn!]

WAHOOOOOO!

[Yeah. Estelle just jumped at the side of the Agricultural Tower and started eating it.]
