[So, here's Hiccup, looking nervous, with a small orange reptile that he keeps trying to hide behind him.]

Okay, so...hypothetical question here. Say someone was out in the Scorched Forest when they probably shouldn'tve been, and just so happened to find, I dunno, a half-starved Charmander with no teeth and bond with it.

Where would that hypothetical person, who's father is probably going to kill him when he finds out, find soft food that's formulated for Fire-types?

You could take normal foods and grind them down, then add water to them. That'd work in a pinch. [Which is what he sounds like he's in right now.]

Because, for various reasons that all center on the fact that I'm an very scrawny normal person instead of a big, giant mountain of an enlightened like him, I'm not allowed outside of the city. Ever.

Yeah. From what I got when I was bonding with him, it's what his parents called him before they abandoned him. But he doesn't seem to mind it too much, and it's not like it's any worse than my name, so we're gonna stick with it.

Not exactly protein rich, but I can probably do something with tofu to make up for that.

Well, like, hypothetically, Pokéco has a ton of types of Pokémon food? A lot of it's for babies, so no teeth should probs be no big deal. I still have some baby food around from before Huzar started eating everything, if someone might hypothetically want it. Not especially for fire types, but...

So, what was someone doing all the way out there?

I'm not actually allowed out of the city. Dad thinks I'd probably get myself eaten., what with my overwhelming lack of Enlightened abilities, or any combat ability whatsoever.

Deliberately ignoring his dad's orders to stay inside the city.

Whale how the glub would he know if you can or can't survive if you're not given a chance? That seems rather unfair.

Everyone's got a potential to do something but we just need that little thing to help unlock it and make it grow. Your father's not really doing you a favor by keeping you in like a small fry in a tank.

To be totally fair, sounds like his dad gives pretty lame orders! There's so much cool stuff to see outside the walls, you know?

Anyway, if your "friend" wants that baby Pokémon food I'm not using, he can have it, like I said.

If you are still or in the forest, and can identify edible berries, I would suggest those.

Grass is acceptable too if you're desperate, and mush it up.

Hiccup. It's family tradition to give your kids terrible names to ward of Drifloon and any other Pokémon that would try to kidnap them.

Believe me, aside from the fish puns, you're not saying anything I haven't told him already. Problem is, he never listens.

Sometimes, rules have to be broken to help another see the light. He may get angry at first but he'll maybe understand in time. It's your life after all, not his.

I couldn't just simply wait for someone to come in and save my clan. I jumped in, fully aware I'm risking life and fin, and now I'm on a mission to find a relic that can save my clan.
