Taking time out of their busy schedules of performing was a rare treat, and while they were coming close to closing night, the week off from performances were a welcome break. While her real intention of getting them all out was to get one person away from the theater: Ichiro Ogami. Preparations were being made even this far in advance, and she did not want to risk him finding out, being as perceptive (see: nosy) as he could be.

She had other reasons for wanting to head up to the mountains herself. It was written that mountains such as these were an ideal place to train ones mind and body, and she could go for some fresh air. She also wanted to work on helping Takeshi and Ken get over whatever animosity they seemed to hold for one another.

Reaching the foothills after a day of hiking, Sakura stretched. "Ahh, it feels good to get out and do some walking, doesn't it?" Says the one who doesn't have the pack with their tents and most of the supplies; that would be Mister Ogami.

[Perhaps another opportunity to test the new guy? Yeah, like John would pass that up. Also he's freezing his ass off out here, so why not kill two birds with one stone.]

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea.

[Oh hey, here we go. He found a large stick. Something that could easily stand in for a handled weapon. It wasn't like he was going to swing around his hammer for something like this.]

Well, being in the Guard means you've probably done a lot of sparring, right?

[John tosses him the stick. He's going to go look for one for himself now.]

[The over dramatic actor who whines about the cold is challenging you to a spar, Ogami.]

Well yes, but why bother with sticks? I brought some training gear. Was that hammer I saw yours? I have one of those, and some swords and other assorted items.

It was, but that seemed a little overkill. But hey, if you wanna go with actual weapons I won't say no.

[He did bring his hammer for obvious reasons, but he didn't think sparring with it would be a great idea.]

Oh no, not live steel. Here.

[He tosses a wooden hammer to John. It's reasonably heavy but padded. Ogami takes out two bokken from his bag as well, they also look to have some weight and padding]

I picked up some of these from my time at the academy. Always good to be prepared!

[He catches it. Hey, not a bad weight! He shifts it around in his hands a bit. Well, alrighty then.]

No kidding. Cool.

[He swings it around a few times experimentally before taking a semi-actual stance.]

[Ogami likewise draws the two swords and brings them into position with a flourish.]

Ready when you are.

[He tightens his grip on the handles.]

[Ogami wastes little time, dashing forward and swinging with his right sword in a horizontal arc]
