[Winds can be heard as soon as the feed starts, along with the flapping of large wings above, and even with Apollo relatively close to the Warp Band his awed voice is a little hard to hear.]
It's so small.
[Below and a bit ahead is Union. Union seen from a fair height above is a gray shape in a sea of green, like an oddly-shaped boulder in an empty field. If Apollo had never seen it from the ground he would never have believed that so many people could possibly fit in it.]
The forest... it was this this small all along?
[Putting the time together, Apollo had probably spent half of his life in the Verdant Forest. It had felt like it had gone on forever, even though he'd been to its edges before. But now, as the view rotates, Apollo aims the camera at the horizon and the true extent of the forest becomes clear. The forest ends near the canyons, the afternoon sun and the distance preventing a good view of the other side. But even the canyons, as wide as they are, don't continue forever. As the view turns to the south, the forest ends at the ocean, the ocean that still stretches to the horizon, sunlight glinting off the surface. But now the tropical island can be made out in the distance, proof that there's more out there than people realized, and the incomplete roof of the port on the shore across from it, a gateway to that unknown. To the east, the forest ends at the mountains, which still loom and block the view. But they don't look quite as big from this height, not like the utterly impassible obstacle they do from the ground, but like a barrier that could be crossed if one could find a path. To the north, the forest ends at the swamp, the top of the ruins visible within.]
...I never knew this world.
[But the swamp isn't the edge of the world like Apollo had always considered it to be, any more than the canyons and mountains are. There's more beyond where anyone's traveled, a splash of pink to the northwest. A very familiar shade of bright pink. And flowers. Even at this distance he can make out the flowers; how big do they have to be, if they can be seen from this far away?]
That's where the light fell, isn't it?
[As his newly-evolved Talonflame circles in the air, grasping him by the shoulders so he and those watching can get a good view, Apollo's suddenly struck by a sense of deju vu. He knows that it's impossible, but he feels like he's seen this view before. Except that time, he was doing the carrying...
The feed shifts suddenly as Apollo's arms fall limply to his sides, the camera showing a pair of dull green pants and a pair of bare feet dangling in the air. Talonflame lets out an alarmed squawk that translates to "What's wrong!?" before Apollo's body starts to glow. The light of evolution streams across the feed for a moment before blasting away, prompting a panicked cry from Talonflame and a moment of shaky-cam while he stabilizes himself. There's a fading red aura surrounding what can be seen of Apollo's body before he jerks slightly.]
I'm okay.
[They begin to glide towards the treetops as Talonflame bird-grunts "I have to put you down now." Whatever Apollo's response is remains unheard as he turns off the Warp Band so he can focus on landing.]
