[Anders is sitting in a small clearing in the forest right outside Union, his back up against a tree. He's fairly relaxed, and noticeably so for those who know him from working at the Medical Center, as that's more than rare for him. He's even smiling a little.

I've left my job at the Medical Center, and I'll be working as a Field Medic from now on instead. I'm going to spend at least this week training, but if anyone is planning an exploration soon and would like a Medic along, let me know.

Queen Cleo would like to help out as well. Wouldn't you?

[He turns the warp band to show a tiny Espurr, who appears much too busy licking berry juice off her paws to pay much attention. She glances up, though, briefly, making a small annoyed noise as if to say, did he have to do this in the middle of lunch?

Anders turns the warp band back on himself.]

I did, up until a few days ago. Now I'm a Field Medic. [he watches her for a moment, trying to place her.] You've had some bad injuries before. Are you a ranger?

Close. I work at the Union Divine Theater. [Michiru, that's not even remotely the same.

She'd roll her eyes a little at all the secrecy, but oh well. She's not in charge, so...]

[Busy cleaning herself! She keeps getting twigs and grass stuck in her fur.]

Injuries like that are rare within the city. [...pause.] How is that close?

[Are you ready for a random encounter, Anders? Because there's a rustling in the nearby underbrush, which is your only warning before an adorable black Houndour puppy leaps out and prances up to greet you!]

[Well, that sure isn't an attacking pokemon. In fact, that sure is a very friendly pokemon. Houndour are a common enough sight for him, though, that it'll take him a moment to realise it's actually one he knows.]

Did you smell the food?

[No, silly, he smelled you. And Cleo!

He wags his tail and pokes his nose at Cleo to say hello, before he forgets!]

[Cleo jumps back to avoid the nose prod, but doesn't bat at him this time. Hello, Sergeant.]

Oh, it's you, Sergeant. What are you doing here?

Sergeant turns back to Anders, barks once, wags his tail, then turns and disappears back into the underbrush.]

[Well, that was a quick encounter. Is he meant to follow? Did he just drop by to say hi, before moving on to other, more important matters? Did he really not want any food?

Oh well, he's comfortable for now, so he'll wait and see.]

[ Mostly. Pleasantries, man . . . ] 'Ve been with them a few months now. [ Which is either long or short depending on how you look at it, mostly short. But it feels long to her, having been a listless odd jobs sort of gal since four years ago when her brother died and her sister stopped being helpful ]
