[ The recording opens up to a little girl with red eyes and a red necktie holding a Budew in her arms. It looks curiously into the warpband, Ib gives a polite nod and a quick smile to anyone watching this. She couldn't wave or properly curtsy while holding a Pokemon. ]

Does anyone have some advice?

[ She looks down at her Budew which is looking back up at her. ]

... Please. We're new. [ To training, she means. ]

[Presumably, shortly after Ib has reached out to the network--]

Ib, there you are! [Suddenly, Ib will now have the appearance of her sister to deal with, throwing her arms around Ib as Mary looks down curiously at Ib's warp band.] Oh, were you talking to somebody just now?

[ She takes the sudden affection in good humor even if it startles Boo a little bit. Tightening her arm around the pokemon, she nods. ] I asked other trainers for advice.

Oh, I see! Did anyone have anything good to say?

[was any of that advice helpful for both you and Mary...]

They think we should have a battle. [ she tilts her head in a way to ask what Mary thinks of that. ]

[portraitor]

A battle? [Hrm. As she thinks about it, Mary...honestly wouldn't mind battle practice--from what she's noticed from playing with her Oddish and other Pokemon, they do enjoy battles once in a while, plus it would make them better trainers if their Pokemon got stronger from those battles. But...]

Should we battle the Pokemon living around here, or did they say we should have battles with other trainers? [Or should they practice against one another rather than against random Pokemon or trainers? Either way, it is something that has to be considered...]

[ They said Ib and Mary should battle but an Oddish and Budew wouldn't be a good match. At their level they'd pretty much just trade absorbs until they tired. ]

I think we should battle trainers. [ She's carefully considering this too. They need to battle to get stronger so they'll be able to get through the woods. And trainer battles should be the safest way, right? ]

[ She looks down at Boo for her input but just gets her staring back up at her. ]

[True. It wouldn't be a very interesting battle between the two of them, not until Budew and Oddish started using other moves or if they bonded with other Pokemon as well, maybe.]

Then...who should we ask to battle with us first? [Mary has confidence in their Pokemon, but even she seems to realize that they might have to be a little careful about picking fights with just any random stranger...]

Someone at our level. [ She doesn't have anyone in mind. Maybe they could ask through the warp band if there's anyone who would be interested in that. ]

[Hm...after a moment of thought, Mary reaches out to take Ib's hand.]

Okay, then let's look together! That way, we can both find somebody that the two of us can battle!
