002 - Video

[merameranomi]

[The camera is pointing at Ace's face, and he's looking a bit distressed]

So... Something happened

[He moves, and something can be seen hiding behind a table in the distance, and whenever Ace tries to get closer the little pokémon just runs away. At one point the pokémon stops in front of the camera, and it can be seen that is an Oddish, who looks terrified.

This happens around three of four times, and Ace just gives up and sits down in front of the camera again]

Since he came home he's been avoiding me, I thought it was because I'm a fire type, but he's talked to Lava and Candle, so I have no idea what's wrong

[the Oddish just looks from behind a chair and glares]

Seriously though. You DID bond with him before bringing him home, right? Can't you get an idea of how he's feeling with that?

I did, he was ok when we met, but as soon as we got home he started behaving like this. I don't know if he doesn't like our place, I mean, he seems to be ok with sleeping close to Macbeth.
I got Candle to ask him but he hasn't told me anything yet

What did you guys bond over anyway?

nope, the only thing I did was cook for all of us and after that he just.... hid

[he pauses for a bit]

wha-- no! I made noodles but we had berries together before he got mad!

[Oh. Well it would've been funny]

So basically, either your food was terrible, or he followed you for the berries and won't stay now you stopped delivering the goods.

I gave him more though, he wouldn't get close to me to eat them, he grabbed a few after I left them on a basket though

I just feel like I should wait until he decides he likes me... if he ever does

Ask someone who can directly talk to them? Weird that Candle didn't get anything out of him.

I'm thinking about it, though the other two are trying to talk to him too. Candle is the one that comes to be with updates

Hello! Uh, if I may - did you bond with that little guy recently, or have you had him for a while now? Because if it's the former, he might just be scared to be away from familiar places.

Hi! We bonded recently, a few days ago actually, but I find it strange that he feels comfortable in my place, with my other pokémon, just not with me

Hmm... That's strange. How did you bond? If he's followed you home, he must've liked you enough... Did you did anything unusual? Er, maybe it doesn't... like your clothes?

We sat in the forest and ate berries mostly... after he tried to attack me and noticed I was feeding the others.

The only thing I did was take off my hat, but I wasn't wearing it when I was eating anyway, and I don't actually wear too many things [he really doesn't] so I don't know what, exactly, is the thing he doesn't like

Yeah... He eats them and then goes back to hiding. I just think he doesn't like me very much

Sometimes it just takes time, especially if they're particularly shy. Just keep with it, and he'll come around.

I hope he does, I like him, he seems to be pretty cool, so I don't know why this happened. Thank you though, I'll try to coax him a bit more with food

I've tried, but I think he doesn't really want to. Got any ideas on how to convince him?

I'm guessing you've tried having your other bonded pokemon vouch for you? Maybe it doesn't like your face or something.

Yeah.... what! Why would it be scared of my face?!

umm... the other guys have spoken to him and tried to get him to come over to me but he just won't do it

Maybe you look like somebody else. Could be he thinks you're related to whoever it is. Don't look at me.

I'm not wearing that many things, are you saying this because it happened to you already? Besides I haven't changed anything since we got home

I haven't met anyone who looks like me, ever, so if there was he'd be from outside of Union.

I'm sayin' cause that's all stuff you can change. Did it just start being scared when you got home?

Hey, you never know. Maybe you got long-lost family or somethin'.

he started being scared after he finished eating the berries I had given him

that would make sense, except he keeps eating the ones I leave around for him

Why don't you just ask? Or... have somebody who can talk to Pokémon ask.

[ And then it abruptly turn to video, showing the girl fiddling with the band, mumbling to herself. ] Did that even go through? How am I supposed to tell?

I tried asking my other pokemon, Candle, to talk to him. I haven't gotten a response yet though

[Ace is a bit surprised when the camera goes on, but he smiles]

Well, I can see you now so I guess you figured out how it worked!

[threemoms]

You can see me now? [ Man, these warp bands are weird.

She gives a timid wave. ]

[merameranomi]

Yup! [He waves back] I think you might have activated the camera while trying to figure out how it worked!

[A small purple flame shows up in the video feed, and the camera moves to show a Litwick waving at you]

That's Candle, oh, I'm Ace by the way!

[ Hotaru brings a hand up to her mouth. OH GOSH. That Pokèmon was just... so cute...

Yeah shut up she has weird taste. ]

Oh! Hello there, Candle. [ Original name. ] And Ace. My name is Hotaru.

[Candle is the most original and cutest ever, yup, he smiles at Hotaru's reaction because that was adorable]

Nice to meet you Hotaru! Have you bonded with many pokemon?

[ She gives Candle a smile - more of one than she gives most humans - before taking in Ace's question. ]

Hm...? No, I haven't bonded with any. [ Is that bad? Or weird? ]

[Candle floats in a circle, he loves making girls happy!

oh? that's really interesting, I haven't met anyone who hasn't bonded with a pokemon in a while, don't you feel lonely though?

Not at all. I'm used to it. [ Her eyes seem to be focused more on Candle than on Ace as she speaks, even though she's addressing him. ] I've never had any friends.

[merameranomi]

That seems like it'd make me lonely, so if you want I could be your friend!

[Candle looks back at her and dances a little, his purple fire moving side to side with him, he's showing off for the pretty girl of course]

[ She laughs. It's a small laugh, but it's there. SHE THINKS HE'S JOKING.

Still, she replies seriously. ] Thanks, but I'm not really looking for any friends.

[merameranomi]

[Ace smiles, he's not entirely sure why she laughed but he just goes with it]
