[Action] Salvage Shop
[Banzu needed to wait for the batch of steel that he'd ordered to be made before he could get started on his project, but that didn't mean that there weren't other materials that he would need. That's why he was at the Salvage Shop, digging through their inventory for anything made of brass or lead. Doorknobs, candlesticks, pieces of flashing from a roof...
The variety of objects that he's picking up is strange and doesn't suggest what he could possibly want them for unless the person watching is familiar with what they're made of and realizes that he's just after the metal. And even then, what could he need that much lead for?]

What are you making with all that? And, mind if I have one of those doorknobs? I need one.

[If Sync looks he'll find an overly ornate one that's probably supposed to be expensive and fashionable but just looks hideously tacky and will dominate any room it's put in with its ugliness.]
I just need the metal. Making parts for a weapon.
[With how uncommon firearms are in Union he wouldn't expect Sync to know what "ammunition" is, so he'll keep his explanation simple.]
no subject
[Glancing around it is, unfortunately unmistakable, and Sync makes a face. He did need to keep his room locked after all. Picking it up, he glances at Banzu's stack again, and remembers what he said he needed all them for.]
Yeah? What kind of weapon?
[He might know the concept, having asked once as a child, but no, he doesn't understand ammunition and likely not the term either.]
no subject
A shotgun.

[He tosses the doorknob between his hands a few times, trying to make himself go ahead and buy it before he changes his mind over the sheer hideousness.]
...Well hey. If you work with metal, can I hire you? [a beat] Not for a doorknob.
no subject
Sure. What do you need?

If you're looking for something basic that's no problem. If you want something that's Enhanced then I'd need to do some research first and it would cost more.
[Also OOCly Banzu can't create another Enhanced item for a couple of weeks, so there'd be that delay too.]
no subject
I was always told to put your trust in who you hire. I just need it strong and light. If you can make me something more like gloves, that'd be great. You got a name or address so we can talk if you need my opinion or anything? [He holds up the doorknob for Banzu to see.] Because I've got to get this in before someone lets themselves into my place and you've got to get to work on you...what did you call it? Shoutgun? Shotgun?
no subject
[There's one thing that he'd better check now though.]
Can I take a look at your hands while you're here?
And I'm Banzu. [Insert number for his Warp Band here.]
no subject
Call me Sync. [It's said a bit absently, but he nods and makes a note of the Warp Band number before sharing his own.]
no subject
Banzu sets down the things that he's going to buy and examines Sync's hands, comparing their shapes and sizes to his own.]
How much do you want the mask to cover? And is there any particular design you're looking for?
no subject
How about making it look like a Flying Type's beak? And...Just past my nose as far as coverage. [He realizes this will likely take a lot of correspondence suddenly.]
no subject
Can do. You're looking at... [A pause while he does some mental calculations before coming back with a price. It's not exactly cheap, but he's not gouging Sync by any stretch. It's very reasonable, all things considered.] Still interested?
no subject
Sure. If you think of anything you want or need that'll lower the price don't hesitate to toss it out though.
no subject
Sure thing. Don't let me keep you from fixing your door though. I'll call you when I get home.
[There will of course be correspondence once Banzu gets back home, with Banzu modeling the mask in clay as they talk and putting it on video so that Sync can give proper feedback. I'm assuming that the end result will be something like the mask and gloves here? If so there will be a request for Sync to provide a comfortable pair of leather gloves and some matching pieces of leather. The gloves will end up looking slightly bulky if someone's paying attention, but not obviously so, and will have pouches filled with lead shot on the knuckles to add weight when punching. The mask will be unpainted metal (he wanted cost reductions, right?) but textured to accept paint easily. It will probably be made of brass (or possibly nickel if Banzu can get some) and will be as light as Banzu can reasonably make it without compromising strength. The parts of the mask over the eyes will be a very fine mesh that won't impede Sync's vision too much, but will still block others' view of his eyes somewhat. There will be an adjustable leather strap on the back to hold it on. Close examination of the mask will reveal that it has no seams anywhere, even when it switches from solid metal to the fine mesh. It's like it was cast in a single piece, but it's too perfect even for that.
The final price will be a bit lower than Banzu's initial estimate, though how much Sync spends on the gloves could eat up that savings. They'll be ready before the visitors arrive in Union. That's right; three days to make items of this quality. No questions will be answered as to how this was done. "I work fast" is about as much as he can expect.]
no subject
Not expecting such prompt service, Sync is surprised at the call, and yes the end result is very predictably as pictured, and while the final price helps save some money, it is almost negated by the request of the gloves and leather. Not that he minds however because it will be very much needed. While questions are expected when Banzu is done, Sync lets it go, since, he made these with no questions either, just a comment he'll probably hire him again at some point. ]
