A Less Panic Inducing Date...
Who: Yukiko Amagi and Fuuka Yamagishi
What: An actual first date, with no dragon gods
When: Sometime after returning from Glacier
Where: The Flower Grove, and elsewhere.
Warnings: PG for fluff, maybe a kiss?
[It’s been a couple of days now since the excitement in the frozen north died down and rather than getting bogged down in the goings on of repairing and rebuilding a shattered city Yukiko and Fuuka had beat a retreat back to warmer climates. Mostly at Yukiko’s insistence, for the health of her new…girlfriend? (because that was still weird to think about!) but also because she needed to check up on the rest of her Pokemon. And once all that was taken care of and she’d slept for a whole day…it was time.
Time to get back together with the apple of her eye. After arranging the meeting, Yukiko hopped in the saddle and rode Bereth on out to the Flower Grove to get things ready. With Fuuka now having her own flying companion, and a steadfast and reliable one like the Aerodactyl at that, she figured getting there early and setting up a place would be nice.
So…whenever Fuuka arrives? There’s a full picnic laid out for the two of them, and a warm sun fighting off the winter chill in this particular clearing. And just Yukiko, alone, hands clasped behind her back. Her feet rock too and fro a little nervously, but she’s smiling as she greets the other.]
Hey. No trouble getting here, I hope?”

Hey. No trouble getting here, I hope?”

As her Aerodactyl flew her to the spot, she couldn't help but smile brightly at what was before her. To think, she confessed to Yukiko just a couple of weeks ago and now they were on their first date!]
No, of course not. Although, I hoped you didn't have any trouble setting all of this! It seems like a lot of work!
no subject
No, not at all. Really it took like five minutes. [A half hour]
I bought everything, since...you know, I really don't want to feed you my own cooking till I've gotten better. [Hah...]
And I wasn't sure what kind of dessert you liked, so I just brought chocolate and vanilla cake. You can take whichever you like best home.
no subject
As they vendered off somewhere close by, Fuuka just stared down at the basket and then at Yukiko in awe]
Goodness, you didn't need to go that far! I would have been perfectly fine with whichever one you chose! As long as I could share it with you, I would have been happ-
[...Did she just say that out loud?]
no subject
I...well, I didn't want to make you choose. You know it would've felt wrong. Especially if you didn't like one, and liked the other...and the last thing I wanted to do was make you anything less than happy.
[Yukiko logic.]
So, we have both. And we can share both.
[She pats the blanket next to her. Come, sit!]
no subject
[She nervously laughed before sitting next to her. Although, it took her a couple of seconds before she attempted to sit closer to her]
But goodness, at this rate, you might be right! I don't think I have a choice but to take some home with me! However...I think my Pokemon might eat it all before I get a chance to!
[With how much they eat and all]
no subject
Well, yes. Pokemon do eat...quite a lot. And your Aerodactyl, goodness! But isn't it so lively, having them around?
[She's starting to dish out foods. Bowls of soup, some fried Finneon, a little tofu, and a curiously red looking dish made with bits of meat. Perhaps most curiously were the bits of Octillery sticking out.]
This might be a bit spicy, but it looked so good!
no subject
But still, she giggled]
Yes it is! I must say, I always thought it was pretty loud when it was just my Espurr and I! Now, it's kind of nice to have someone else around.
[Not to mention how much the both of them bickered a lot. Either way, as she looked out at the food, she suddenly found herself getting hungry. With her eyes widen open, she just stared back at Yukiko]
Goodness...you really went all out didn't you? You didn't have to do that! It must have cost you a lot!
no subject
I'm surprised Espurr hasn't evolved yet. But...all things in time, I suppose. Either way, maybe a third Pokemon would be good to have around too. To balance them out, since you have two extreme personalities there.
[Out come plates, and bottles of juice.]
Ah? No, it sure didn't. See, one of the old customers at the spa? She's a cook. And she offered me a big discount for it. And she was so enthusiastic about the cooking that I didn't wanna turn her down. I hope you like spicy things though!
no subject
[Although, she does have to wonder, her Espurr would evolve pretty soon though. Boy, how was she going to tell her parents that?
Either way, as all the food came out, she just giggled]
Of course not, my mom cooks spicy things a lot back home! But we should definitely thank the cook whenever we have the time! She made a lot of good food, I don't know where to start!
no subject
Ah. Well, we will I'm sure. And I know just where to start.
[The hot plate of stirfry is what she reaches for, peeling back the container's lid and letting the smell of pepper and meat and vegetables wash over the area around them.]
This is best hot. Though, we have to take it a little slow because it's very, very spicy.
[She hands over a pair of chopsticks and breaks her own.]
It's a shared dish, though. So dig in.
no subject
Although, while Fuuka tried her best to hug it, it didn't stop it from being loud!]
Goodness, I didn't realize I was that hungry! But I suppose I should eat something shouldn't I?
[She chuckled to herself before breaking her chopsticks as she attempted to grab something from the hot dish. Of course, the moment she took a bite out of though?
Yeah, her face was instantly red now! Quick, do something Yukiko!]
no subject
Absolutely. Eat up, Fuuka!
[Yukiko started chowing down as well...but the instant she caught sight of Fuuka's face she panicked!]
Fuuka! ARe you okay?!
[Here comes tea! Right now, take it! Drink it! It's a corn-tea, so it's kinda bland and normal...and may help!]
no subject
While her Pokemon just raised an eyebrow at what was going on, they weren't sure if they should do something about it...
But when Yukiko have her the drink? She didn't think twice, she just started drinking it like no tomorrow!]
Y-Yeah, I'm think I'm okay. I didn't think it was that hot! Maybe I'm not use to eating spicy food after all!
no subject
[She plucks outta a tray full of cooked rice.]
Maybe you should eat it on rice? That'll take some of the burn off, if you just mix it in a little bit.
[And when Fuuka's done with her tea, Yukiko's already pouring another cup.]
no subject
Yeah, I should! Sorry, I didn't know it would be that spicy! Maybe I should have eaten something else instead?
[Ahahaha...ha...haaa...]
But if you like it, then that means I should eat some more right?
no subject
[Yukiko starts shoveling some of the spicy galbi onto her plate, and then scoops up some rice, and sort of mixes them together before she takes another bite.]
And I should've given you the rice first too. It takes the bite off. Try it that way and you may like it more.
no subject
[While Fuuka got some rice in her plate, she just stared down at it. As she got some galbi too, she was a little worried. For a few seconds, she looked back at Yukiko and then back at the spicy food.
Although, it didn't take long before she attempted a bite so she won't disappoint her girlfriend! As soon as she did?]
...Huh, it does taste a lot better now that most of the spice is gone! Now I want even more!
no subject
[She is very, very pleased with this. This is already going so much better than the last time they went out. she's not even stammering a little bit.]
Now, eat all you want. There's plenty of that, and rice. And we have a few other things too...
[She starts opening more of the trays, showing a few kinds of seaweed salad, picked vegetables, and even some cucumber tempura. And of course...tofu.]
Whatever's left over? We can split and have for lunch tomorrow.
no subject
Then how about you get the first bite out of them? Since you brought them over, it's only fair you get to eat it first!
[But she wasn't going to lie, the more food she saw, the more she was getting hungry by the minute!]
no subject
[Yukiko reaches down with her chopsticks and plucks up a tofu-stick, chewing on it thoughtfully while looking at Fuuka expectantly. Eat up!]
no subject
Hm...? Is something wrong?
no subject
[And not at all enamored with how cute you are...]
no subject
[Goodness, you're making this stressful for the poor girl! As she stared down at the plates of food, she had to make a choice right now! The future depends on what kind of food she'll eat!]
I...I guess I'll take this one? [She said before picking up the tofu] But I'm fine with any food though! I'm not really picky about what I eat!
no subject
[The future is NOW!
Yukiko starts eating though, slow bites of the seaweed and tofu, smiling pleasantly around the meal.]
You know Rise, right? I bought the tofu from her family.
no subject
[But then again, with Fuuka being in the hospital for most of her life, how was she suppose to know what was in and out of fashion?]
But I didn't know she had a tofu store around though. Although, that means I should go visit her whenever I can! She seems like a nice person!
no subject
[She might have heard Risette on the radio?]
And you should. She's a great person. And a good friend, too. Just...don't let her cook for you.
no subject
Oh right, you have mentioned before that she wasn't a very good cook! Didn't you say she was a worse cook than the both of us?
[And somewhere, the sound of Rise sneezing could be heard]
no subject
[And don't get her started on Chie or Morgiana...]
no subject
Really? Well, how bad can she be? I don't think she can be that of a cook!
...Right?
no subject
[Yukiko makes a face just remembering that curry.]
Have you ever eaten food that tasted like sand? Because that's how she makes curry.
no subject
While I don't think I would make curry that way but I know that's what happened when I accidentally overcooked some rice...?
[And here, Fuuka wasn't sure if that was suppose to make Rise feel better or not...]
no subject
no subject
I suppose so. I'm starting to wonder which one of our friends can cook.
