Plot Description: SCIENCE OF COURSE! AT HIGH SPEEDS! That is to say: Creating Rotomcycles, testing them out, and all that sort of stuff.

A project like this is not going to get done in one sitting, but Gil seems to be giving it a shot. Aside from the occasional break to eat or deal with other bodily functions, he has by now been working on constructing the prototype rotomcycle for twelve hours and shows no sign of slowing down. He's got an unhealthy looking light in his eyes, and when he asks for assistance with anything his voice has a strange harmonic to it that makes it difficult to ignore him.

It wasn't until past sundown that he looked outside.

"Huh, when did it get dark?"

Lucca looks up from her own workstation, turning a part over in her hands and raising an eyebrow. He hadn't taken a break yet, and he looked...bad...

"About two hours ago. You know, when the rest of us took a break to eat, Gil. You know, that thing that living, breathing people do?"

[schmott_guy]

"I ate."

He had grabbed a sandwich and eaten it with one hand while poking at the gear box with his other. Now he was on to the brakes.

"Anyways I think I can get this thing ready in just, like, six or seven more hours."

"When was the last time you slept?"

It's a legit question, Gil.

"Because you don't look like you've got six or seven more hours in you."

"Well I got up at nine yesterday, so....pushing on thirty hours? I'm good for another day or two at least. We'll be done before then."

[sparkofgenius]

"Gil."

Lucca wanders around the table and very nearly calls on her Hypnosis powers...

"You need to rest. We aren't on any timed schedule and we have a nearly limitless budget. If you get tired, you might end up miscalculating something. I know you're excited but get some rest man!"

He gave Lucca a thoughtful look.

"...Do I really look as bad as all that?"

[sparkofgenius]

"Yes," is the answer.

"This isn't a life or death situation. We have time."

[schmott_guy]

"My father taught me mental exercises that help fight off fatigue. I can usually stay up for three or four days in a row before I start to get really loopy."

But he put down the pliers.

"I GUESS I could take a little break, though..."

"That would be advisable. You look beat. And there's no point in rushing."

Haste makes waste, her daddy always said.

"Have a seat, I'll get you some tea. I'm about done with that part anyway."

[schmott_guy]

"I really am doing fine." He insisted half heartedly. But he DID like tea...

She'll just start making it then, pouring out hot water and bringing over a tray with stuff to go into it.

"Be that as it may, no time like the present to relax and rest your eyes for a bit. This is herbal tea, it'll help recharge you faster."

"Right..."

While he appreciated the thought on an academic level, it was only through intense concentration that he wasn't impatiently tapping his foot and glancing back at the half finished machine. He sat down and forced himself to try the tea, for politeness sake.

"...Say, this is actually pretty good!"

"An old Calderan recipe," she nodded as she poured herself out a cup and offered to refill his. "I imported the roots and crushed them myself. Glad you like it."

[schmott_guy]

"I didn't take you as the type who did a lot of her own from-scratch cooking." He shook his head at the offered refill, but sipped some more.

[sparkofgenius]

"Well, I do a lot of things. My mom's fond of cooking, so I figured I should learn. Otherwise I'd probably starve or go broke eating take-out."

A laugh.

"Which could theoretically be something this invention improves...hotter food getting to places quickly."
