Second Stone - Video/Action
[Today's broadcast is brought to you from the Lake Shrine area as Kili is playing with his 'mons by the water. Kuna is romping happily in the shallows, Magnith is avoiding the water and sunning on a rock, and his others are playing near by.
Also enjoy the shirtless Calderan, Union]
There's so many different types of Pokémon out here. I thought it was going to be boring because how many Grass-types and Water-types can one place have, but wow, was I wrong. Anyone have any suggestions for a good Water-type I can find around here? I heard something about a fishing rod--who do I need to pay to get a good one?
[He cuts the feed. Anyone interested in ACTION can find him playing with his 'mons, napping under a nearby tree, or training them (and trying to work out Kuna and Azaram's issues) in some nearby grass.]

[action]
Bandit! We're not going to be able to fish if you break the rod...!
[...Some sort of unidentifiable mewing response sounds now.]
C-Can't you just... eat a Poffin?
[action]
[Oh Savior it's come to kill Azaram! He starts to panic and floats over to cling desperately to Kili]
Az--Azaram! It's just a hook! It won't hurt you!
no subject
[...There comes a general pause before a boy with a Purrloin attached to its face cautiously makes his way out of the trees. The cat holds the end of the fishing rod in its mouth.]
Oh - !
I'm so sorry; we didn't know there was anyone here! We didn't hook you, did we?
[Purrloin doesn't look very sorry and instead, yanks the line as hard as it can. This succeeds in doing nothing besides causing a shower of leaves to fall on Azaram, whoops.]
Bandit!
no subject
[The leaves fall on both the Drifloon and Kili. Magnith rolls over and burns a few for fun while Kili shakes himself clean]
No, just scared Azaram. He's afraid of pokey things.
no subject
[Bandit purrs innocently while Lucas reaches up and plucks the rod from his mouth. There seem to be red gashes all over his face and neck that lend credence to his theory.]
Are you here to... swim?
[A reference to shirtlessness, probably.]
We can come back later if we're getting in the way.

[Lucas stares in what is clear disbelief for a moment or two before he waves a hand.]
Ah, sorry, that's rude...! People never went out of the city often before a year or so ago, did they? I was lucky... to have lived out here.
[But that's getting a little off track.]
Anyway -- Bandit... is here for a snack...
[There is an obvious reluctance in the way Lucas says this. As he converses, he begins to climb up the tree towards where the hook is stuck.]

[Lucas fiddles with the hook now and attempts to release it from the branch. Bandit, in the meantime, has suddenly decided Kili is a more interesting person to attach to and leaps off of Lucas's face.]
Ah... That's very kind of you! But we couldn't just take your food...
[Yes they can, hisses Bandit.]

[With a grunt, Lucas eventually yanks the hook out of the bark it's somehow managed to catch in and proceeds to fall backwards out of the tree.]
...Ow.
[He rubs at his head a bit before turning to Bandit.]
Well... what do you think? Is that good enough for today?
[Bandit looks inscrutably ambivalent, as cats usually do. Lucas will take this as a good sign.]
Um... Alright, well - if you really don't mind! Thank you, mister.
no subject
[Kili rushes over to help the poor kid, wincing when he doesn't get to him in time]
You okay? And it's Kili.
no subject
[He certainly sounds cheerful enough - the fall wasn't much, anyway, as Bandit didn't have enough strength to toss the line up very high.]
It's nice to meet you, Mr. Kili. My name is Lucas -- and the one trying to look through your things is Bandit, of course.
[Bandit immediately stops and pretends that it has no idea what Lucas is talking about.]
no subject
[Magnith can! The little Darumaka rolls over and unbuttons the pouch, tossing the jerky to the Purrloin]
And really, just Kili. I'm too young to be a mister!
no subject
[...]
Sorry... Kili. I'm not very used to calling anyone older than my classmates by their first name.
[Bandit, in the meantime, will mew enthusiastically as it tears into the pouch.]
Ah - don't eat it all!

[He'd say not to encourage him, but Bandit's already going at it. With a slight sigh, Lucas will reach out and yank Bandit over a little closer.]
You're really generous... Thank you.
I... I don't like fishing for food all that much, to be honest, but Bandit hates the food I make for him. It's not very fair to expect him to eat like me...
[Damn right, it's not.]
So... your uncle lives here? Did he move here after the war, too?

[Lucas will absentmindedly begin to stroke Bandit's fur.]

[Bandit casually rakes Lucas across the hand as he rightly deserves.]
I-I'm just kidding...!
But what do you mean by that? You're just not very good with the forging?
no subject
Kili shrugs]
No, see, Caldera puts a lot of stock in what you can do. Fighting? Crafting? Cooking? Whatever you're good at, go do more of it. I'm an okay fighter but a bad soldier, my carving's just a hobby, and my Earthkin ability is being really good at raising Eggs.
no subject
[Somehow, it seems like they've wandered into a serious topic. Lucas ponders what Kili has to say for a moment or two.]
If it helps, I don't think I'm good at very much, either.
[it probably doesn't.]
But I think that's alright. We can't all be good at the things that other people think are important... otherwise, there would only be three or four kinds of people in the world, right?
So... if that's what you're good at, then that's what you're good at! Lots of people need to have their eggs and babies taken care of. It's still important in its own way, too.
no subject
Eh, it's fine. Earthkin get a little more leeway than other people, though they like it if we're good at solidering.
no subject
[Seeing that Bandit is slowing down, he'll carefully pry the packet of fish out of his Pokemon's paws.]
Do you all think... the war is going to continue sometime?
