[The residents of Union who are tuning into the warp band just now will find themselves treated to the sight of leaves...and, oddly, a curious blue face leaning on close, her twin antennas wiggling.]

Woop?

[Dai, do you even know that your thing is on?

The man himself can be heard chuckling in the background as the video shifts to accomodate the both of them.]

I know, Blue-- and be careful, you're getting goop all over the place again.

[Woopers. They were stupidly cute, but people tended to forget that they liked to slime themselves up on land. The slime stung-- and, while Daisuke was smart enough to wear gloves, Blue was currently getting bits of bark and dirt stuck on her. It was a complete and utter mess.

But, it didn't seem like Daisuke cared. His own white pants and coat were marred with dirt as well. Bits of twigs and dried, brown leaves were stuck in his hair. There was a smear of dirt on his cheek.]

It's a pretty view, isn't it? [He smiled,] You can almost see the whole forest from up here!

[Off screen, another pokemon spoke up:] --do. Ski Skiddo. [You're forgetting something important, Dai.]

Oh-- right. It might take me a bit to get back home, but don't worry. J knows what to do if you need anything.

Woop! Wooper! Skiddo!

[You didn't need to understand pokespeak to know that the two pokemon were protesting something dreadfully important as Daisuke closed off the feed.]

... I'd hazard that "seeing the whole forest" has absolutely nothing to do with why you're still in that tree.

You'd be hazarding right....but, it does give someone a very compelling reason to stay.

[Did you not see how high they were? They were pretty damn high up that tree.]

[A clearly unimpressed stare.]

My wing's messed up so I can't do it, but I've got a Fearow I can send out to get you if you can't get down on your own.

[It's not phrased as "do you need help?", because that's not the kind of shitbird Ankh is.]

[Dai appreciates the gesture-- although his pokemon were quite vocal about it, he wasn't quite ready to admit that he was stuck and needed help yet.]

There's three of us. Myself, my goopy little Blue, and Harley the Expert Climber. Can your friend handle all of that?

[Ankh is currently trying to figure out why he is even bothering.]

[Also excuse, are you calling his Pokemon incapable.]

He's got about a six foot wingspan, I think he can manage.

[No, never! He simply doesn't want to overburden your friend!]

Woop, wooper!

[Look for the idiot in the white coat, Blue chimed in, peeking into the feed. Bits of dried leaves were sticking to her antenna.]

Idiot? Blue, that's harsh!

[Not even the Pokemon on his team would give him a break...]

[A chuffed laugh.]

Idiot in the white coat. Got it.

[And so in reasonably short order there is a Fearow soaring by overhead, who perches neatly in a nearby tree and leers at Daisuke and his Wooper, and shortly after the wild-haired blonde from the video shows up below them.]

One idiot in a white coat, found.

[Dai responded with a dramatic pout.]

Hey, you don't need to rub it in~

[He really was happy for the rescue, even if his complaints didn't show it.]

Just to be sure, you're not lost or something?

Of course I'm not lost!

[Dai laughed.]

How can I be, when I can see everything around?

Dunno, you could be a city boy and not be able to make out the horizon.

[If Melaka was astute, she'd realize that her guess was right on the money. His clothes, though currently smeared with dirt, were of a cut that was too stylish for someone accustomed to hiking to ever pick out for a climbing expedition.

...Not that he was entirely too keen to just up and admit that.]

Why wouldn't I be able to make out the horizon? It's out there, as far as I can see.

[The little Wooper batted him on the sleeve at those words, with a muffled 'woop.' Dai, why couldn't you even ask for help right?]

'Cus that horizon, and the world's, a lot bigger than Union ever thought.

[ At least more than she ever could have dreamed. She hums a little - she is astute, but she's not... looking for the guy being in danger, not really. Just checking as part of her self-appointed Ranger Duties. And maybe to be a deapan teaser ]

Or you could be blind.

Well, I'd have to be blind not to see how interesting you are.

[A boyish grin. That may have been half of an attempt to flirt.]

Besides. Why would a blind man be in a tree?

[ That said, without color here...does it even show that's two tone? Oh well, that's what she takes it for, brushing back her bang with one hand and the adjusting her warp band a little, to grin. She's not pretty. But... ] So maybe you just got used to it. Couldn't know.

I wasn't talking about the hair.

[It was actually her word choice, demeanor, and her practical looking jacket that had caught his eye. Colors didn't show that easily via the video capabilities of the warp band. Variance in shade and tone could easily be written off as variance in the lighting in the eyes of a stranger.]

As you said, I'm a city boy. I really did just come out here for fun.

[ She neatly nearly says something like "then what are you talking about?" but she pushes past that, exhaling a little. She sighs, lightly, and mercifully, he changes the subject ]

So do we gotta mount a search for your hide?

[Wow, that was rather harsh and pointed! Dai scratched his head, glancing away from the feed.]

I'm south of the city if I'm reading everything right, in a very tall tree. Any rope you find ground side is probably gonna be mine.

Won't even charge you that much, boyo.

[ It's said with a very dry, very blase sense of humor. But, honoring that, she will try to follow it up on... a personal search. ]

Hope it's not that much-- there's no money hanging off this tree. Perhaps we could do dinner sometime?

[Was he offering to pay a girl with food? Why yes, he totally was!

[ what that- ]

... Yeah, sure, let's do it. I'll bleed your wallet.

[A grin.]

I think I can take the hit.

[Oh, if only she knew...]

[ Okay, to business- ] Pan the camera around again, and remind me the landmarks. I'll get'ya within an hour or two tops.

[What... What is this.]

[Daisuke.]

[Hayato raises an eyebrow, trying hard not to look super amused.]

You'd think you'd have learned from my example.

[The situation is plenty amusing, and Dai is fortunate enough to be able to find the humor in it.

That said, he does cast Hayato a pointedly indignant look.]

No, I learned. Unlike you, I at least had a rope.

[Dai smirked, and there was a glint in his eyes that was a tad too cocky considering his circumstances.]

You're little guy's gonna be hard pressed to beat Harley in a climbing contest, if that's what you're thinking. He can't get enough of the challenge.

[Off-screen there was a confident, affirmative Ski! of agreement. Damn straight was he the best in the city!]

[And, hello, have a curious Froslass and her equally curious trainer.]

Mr Aurora, are you alright out there? I can see about getting you some assistance.

[He smiled, a bit sheepishly, at the young woman.]

There's better ways to tease a guy, you know. I might just be up here enjoying how everything looks. You never realize how big the world is until you get up this high.

While it is true that being on higher ground gives one a better perspective of things around them, it's not necessarily the norm for you to be in a tree with your Pokémon.

Also, Skadi says those clouds are snow-laden. You should reconsider staying out there.

[Point taken on all accounts. While Dai had a love for the adventure that lay beyond Union's walls, he was a purebred city boy with a heart that belonged among the tower lined streets. He cast a brief look up at the clouds, noting the low-hanging grey sheets that were slowly moving in the wake of the delicate-looking wisps that rose high up in the sky.]

Well, I'm definitely reconsidering it now, [he admitted.

It was almost tempting to recall Blue to the Warp Band. Woopers liked the cooler weather, but he didn't want her to freeze.]

[Being of the city-dwellers out of their league sometimes outside of Union club, Mitsuru always takes extra precautions when she goes out. Namely, she's either not venturing very far until she's more comfortable traveling outside or she's with her friend who has more experience.]

Where are you exactly? I can probably get you down from the trees with Gabriel, but we'll both have to walk back to the city.

[Koromaru wasn't quite big enough to ride yet.]

Don't worry about that-- walking's not a problem.

[The problem, mostly, was the two-fold loss of his rope midway through and the fact that he was rather lacking in the strength department. So long as they didn't rush anything, he'd be fine.]

I'm in a really tall tree in the forests to the south of the city. We're still close enough to see the skyline, if that helps any.]

Hm, it might take me a few hours to walk that far out. But, if that's not a problem for you, my Pokémon and I can be out there to help you soon.

[She's not going to even try to force this. There are others with flying Pokémon or those who have rideable creatures.]

I've got time if you're offering, Miss Kirijo. It's not like we're going to make it very far from here if we tried.

Then, my team and I will be out there to help you. Do you need anything like a coat or some food for you and your Pokémon, perhaps?

Maybe just an icepack and a bandage...for my pride.

[He chuckled. Man, this was embarrassing!]

I'm sure that it's not that bad. We all need assistance from time to time and if we don't help one another, who will?

[AKA, she's not judging you. Relax.]

I know-- I just didn't think I'd get into a mess this quickly, that's all.

....and, hey. If you happen to see my brother? Do me a favor and don't tell him that I screwed up already, okay?

[She blinks, confused as to why he'd bring up his brother.]

I'm not sure why I would tell your brother about this incident at all. It has nothing to do with him and is easily solved by the two of us.
