[As the feed flicks on, it shows Chie standing in one of Union's parks with an Aegislash hovering next to her and looking stoic, shield held in front of its body and fully at attention.]

Okay, so, uh... Guan Yu wanted me to brodcast this.

[Chie glances over to her Pokemon as she finishes setting up the Warp Band.]

You ready?

[With a short nod from the ghostly sword, it drifts down toward the ground, extending its shield arm out to the side and performing its best bow.  It's only slightly awkward considering that it can't exactly bend and doesn't have a waist.  Chie starts into a spiel that was clearly given to her by the Aegislash itself.]

Do you pledge, in front of all these people and Pokemon, to train hard, battle fiercely, protect those in need, and never give up in the face of overwhelming odds?

Slash, slash... Aegislash.

[For those capable of understanding Pokemon language, it's essentially a pledge of fealty and servitude, and a recognition of Chie as a worthy lord.  Guan Yu is very big on formality and tradition.]

Then rise, Sir Guan Yu!

[After gratefully bowing its head a moment more, the Aegislash rises proudly into the air, holding its shield up triumphantly.]

Aegislash!

[It seems pretty proud of itself.  Chie's not entirely sure all of this was necessary, but even she has to admit it's pretty cool, and by this point she's grinning widely too.]

Well... you heard him, guys.  I've got myself a knight in shining armor.  Pretty cool, huh?

No pun intended there. I have a honedge egg that should be hatching within a few days, perhaps mine will follow Guan Yu's noble example.

[She grins, then pulls her arms back, nodding cheerfully at the warp band's broadcaster.]

Has he been with you since the beginning?

Yeah, he's been training really hard. I'm proud of him.

[Chie grins right back, clearly pretty happy about all of this praise.]

No, I got him as an egg a little while back. He just worked hard and evolved fast.

I didn't know they could evolve that fast. I might need to give mine more training...

...and Ichigo totally heard that speech that Guan Yu made. He's...actually really impressed, and it shows on his face.]

[...Ichigo. Ichigo, that's pokemon. Although Guan Yu might recognize that it's not the general Pokemon dialect, but one specialized to the Honedge family. The longhaired guy in the weird samurai clothes (that have markings remarkably like a honedge's scabbard) sure is weird!]
