I did it!

[Today there is a small child looking proud of himself in the feed of the Warp Band. Lucas doesn't use this very often... Technology is still something he's a little bit wary of, but he's got something important to say today...]

Um. It's Lucas! Probably not many people remember... but a few months ago, I was talking about how we could make clothes for people who didn't have enough in the winter, right? Anyway, you were right; it just wouldn't be good enough as clothing.

So I've been learning to sew... And during the summer, I made friends with a Cottonee and a Mareep! We came up with a really good idea together!

Ta-da!

[Lucas thrusts forward what seems to be some sort of abomination wool/cotton sweater with zigzagging green thread running all over. In the background, a partially shaved Mareep and Cottonee can be seen huddling together for warmth while a Leavanny yawns with an amused expression on its face.]

I call it... FuzzyFriends (TM)! The inside is lined with cotton and the outside is 100% wool! It keeps you so warm that I passed out the first time I wore it for longer than six hours! It takes about two weeks for the wool and cotton to grow back, so... I mean I won't be able to make a lot, but if anyone else has Pokemon like these, I bet we can make more! Right now, it's only --

[Lucas consults a calendar.]

...October 7th?!

[.....................................]

Um.

Ah, so - t-this is the FuzzyFriends (TM) Fleece! And, um, the first person who doesn't have enough warm clothing can have it for free! So... feel free to ask...!

We'll... still be here. Working on a faster invention......

[Well, isn't this just completely and utterly adorable. Normally, Yakumo might not use the warp band much either, but this? This just makes her smile. So, a dark haired teenage girl replies, holding up a little Espurr.]

Goodness. That...is certainly an interesting outfit.

[Well, in fairness? It seems like he's saying that himself.]

Well, for something that fluffy? I bet it'll keep people very, very warm.

But...those Pokemon. Isn't it maybe going to be hard on them, always needing to regrow their fluff?

[Yakumo nods, giving the shaven Pokemon a smile as Lucas glances away.]

It's still a good idea. So...you should thank them. Clothes for people that need them really is sweet, Lucas.

Are all your inventions like that? [...because you mentioned working on more?]

It was really cold, you're right.

[She thinks for a minute...]

Is there any way you could make it thinner, though? Since...it's so warm it made you really sleepy? That might not be too good for people who are trying to be outside. And it might be good for the Pokemon, since they can keep more hair.

Maybe just slightly thinner layers?

[Maybe? She's just making a guess. She also doesn't know he tried it in like...July or something.]

Well, maybe just one small bit. I don't know. But I'd like to try one on sometime, if you make more.

You could use cloth to practice, you know...old shirts or socks with holes in them.

[Boy, what a sweet kid. Seriously.]

See, there you go.

[Yakumo positively beams at him. This girl and kids...]

And your name is Lucas, right? Mine is Yakumo.

Just Yakumo is okay. I'm [A faint laugh.] not old enough to be a miss.

And I understand. Honestly, I rarely use mine either, but your coat and friends are just so cute.

Well, who can say. Some little boys stay cute, even when they grow up.

[Gosh, it's so much easier talking to people over the warp band. It's making her open up so much more...and she's starting to like being able to talk to people normally.]

But, anyway...please let me know how it goes. I think your FuzzyFriends is a great idea. And if you'll send me an address, I can send you some old clothing to practice sewing with too.

[Since her sister's old clothes are basically just collecting dust, and possibly attracting bug-types...]

Good. I expect nothing less from a splendid little inventor.

[She really will use some of the family treasury to send him a few boxes of fabric and old clothes, too. Just because.]
