Third Dream [Video/Open Action]
[With all the tests needed passed, the paperwork signed, and the badge obtained, Yuuna finally felt she'd figured out the place where she could do the most good. Joining the Rangers at the suggestion from Jade and after several conversations with Goku just seemed like the natural progression of things. So, once the weirdness of being stuck in Robin's body had worn off she'd gone in and taken the last test. It wasn't hard, just a basic athletics exam that'd gone swimmingly, and after a brief induction ceremony she was pretty much given leave to carry on and wait orders.
So, back out into the wilderness to train she goes, her merry band in tow, heading north on a mission.
The last few weeks had been pretty damn weird, what with all the random Croagunk attacks. Whoever heard of Pokemon taking such a dislike to someone? And they'd gone after more than just her, too, since they'd seemingly targeted Robin while their bodies had been swapped. It wasn't like they were being particularly talkative, and so she'd gone out and located one last week that'd seemed amenable to training with her, but that'd turned up nothing. If anything, bonding with Geshiko had made the problem worse, with Croagunk turning up at least twice a day.
And Geshiko herself? Well...once she'd swapped back, the little froggy had seemed absolutely horrified to be in Yuuna's presence. She'd gone from openly affectionate to seemingly terrified in the span of a day, and that was incredibly worrisome. None of her other Pokemon seemed to know what was wrong, either, which...really didn't help matters. Maybe it was a vain hope, but if nothing else she figured a trip to the swamp might hold some answers. And if not, let the poor girl go.
On the way, though...]

Hey there Union...and not Union people. This is Yuuna, and I figure I probably should announce it since I passed all the exams this morning. I'm now officially a part of the Rangers. So, if there's any help you need, or something I can do, please don't hesitate to send me a message and I'll do everything I can.
And while I'm at it, I've got a problem of my own that I'm wondering if anyone can help with. The past few weeks I've been having repeated encounters with angry Croagunks. Like, they've been attacking me when I've been anywhere near the swamp and sometimes in Union too, like they're following me around. It's really kind of weird, and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen similar behavior in Pokemon before. I don't even mean the same ones, either, because each time these have been completely different Croagunks.
Also on a related topic, last week...I bonded with a Croagunk, and ever since that weirdness stopped, she's been acting terrified of me. I figure it's probably related, but I'm not sure what to do with her. Any thoughts on how to maybe keep her from wigging out when we're in the same room? I don't want to scare her or anything, and I really don't want to have to fight off a bunch of frogs every day, so any thoughts would be-
[A deep, burbling, basso croak echos behind her, audible even over the warp band]
-oh...hell...
[The camera drops to the ground as Yuuna drops it and rolls away, and the attacker is plainly visible. A second Pokemon shrieks, and the Poliwrath has an opponent! A Hawlucha squares off, standing between the water-type and her trainer, crouched and ready for a fight! And then the camera blanks out as a hand grabs the band.
Sorry guys, this ain't pay-per-view.
That said, there is a lot of noise coming from an area, so anyone who's out and about today is more than welcome to come running for an Action portion to spectate, help out, or just stare at the spectacle. Yuuna's not far outside Union]
Video, much later
[It's an hour or two after the fact, and Yuuna pops back on the warp band, wearing streaks of mud and a sheepish grin on her face.]
Sorry about that. But, you see what I mean?
[OOC: And feel free to break time if you want an action thread!]

action
There was always something about motion that relaxed him.
He had been taking a small break on the trail to stretch his legs when Yuuna made her video. It was excellent news--Rei was about to congratulate her on her accomplishment when the interruption happened.
...from the sounds of it, it wasn't very far away, either.
Acting on a snap decision, Rei abandoned his gear on the trail and took off in the direction of the noise. There wasn't much that he could do...but, when he was this close, there was no reason for him not to try.]
Yuuna-san?!
[He called out her name when he drew near. What kind of mess was this...?]
no subject
The enemy seems to be trying to get around the luchador and towards the human, but the agile bird is quite capably keeping him held at bay. It seems to have summoned a localized rainstorm though, and is trying to bull-rush Ichijou when Rei runs up...
But beyond all that insanity, there's another battle going on. Kyo seems to be stomping around a large group of Croagunk that are zealously charging at him over and over, attempting to reach a cowering frog. In Pokespeak they're chanting something that sounds almost like a religious hymn, their eyes fixed angrily on the goal...as if the stony titan isn't the way at all.]
Ryugazaki?! What are you doing here?!
[She's surprised to see him, or really anyone, but there's a mixture of amusement and excitement in her voice. Almost like she's enjoying this on some twisted level. It's weird, but Rei probably has seen her like this before once the adrenaline gets going. The question remains though: how does he intend to help?]
no subject
[As if that explained anything. Shaking his suddenly soaked hair from his face, Rei assessed the chaos from above his rain-splattered lens. He didn't need clear vision or his analytical prowess to figure out where he needed to be--]
Harima! Hanai! Take Shiro over there and help out Kyo!
[A bunch of froggies that could fight? It shouldn't have been too hard for the delinquint's protege to handle. He took his glasses off and tried to flick the excess water away when the pokemon rushed off to storm the band of zealots from behind. Between Harima's street smarts, Hanai's chill demeanor, and Shiro's skill, he was going to trust them...
In the meanwhile, he was joining Yuuna.]
...what happened, Yuuna-san? Has this been a regular thing?
no subject
They're learning. Forming a plan...]
This? No. Usually it's just a couple of Croagunks, and Gouken or Ichijou send them packing. The Poliwrath is new.
[Speaking of, the bigger Pokemon has engaged the Hawlucha now, trying to get her caught into a grapple. The flying type almost allows it before skipping aside and launching the wrestler into the air with a throw. Don't worry humans, she has this lump well in hand.]
LUCHA!!!!
no subject
But those Croagunks...]
....they're clearly organized. Do you think they actually asked Poliwrath to do them a favor?
[or, even more bizarrely, hired Poliwrath? What kind of favors did they promise the Pokemon?]
no subject
Honestly? At this point? I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Or paid him with berries or something equally insane.
[Hawlucha catches Poliwrath's foot, as it rushes in again, tossing it to one side easily.]
This is the first time I've seen something other than Croagunks though.
[The rather organized group piles together and goes for a rush. This time not at Kyo...but at the luchador's exposed back!]
no subject
[Rei couldn't even get the words out before Marill threw his sunglasses aside and, with a battle cry, lead Pancham and Ralts into the fray. Although the mouse and the panda had different temperaments, they seemed to be moving in tandem to keep the Ralts clear of distractions.
It didn't take long to figure out why.
Within a moment the Ralts, red eyes normally hidden behind the green fringe, unleashed an eerie light at the horde.
...Rei cut himself off.]
That little one surprises me with something new every day.
no subject
Heh, yeah. He's doing good for such a little guy.
[She doesn't seem terribly worried, even with the Poliwrath charging full tilt at the pile of Fighting types. Because.]
Ichijou, tag out. Kyo, you're up.
[From inside the pile, as the Poliwrath makes to bellyflop, there's a pulse of light and a weird shifting sensation. And...then Hawlucha is just over where Kyo was. And the Poliwrath's Take Down crashes into the Tyranitar that's now looking down at him.
Hungrily.
Of course, this now leaves Ichijou to guard the paralyzed Croagunk, and the effects of the psychic attack are beginning to wear off...]
no subject
How did Ichijou-san know how to do that?
[He asked, eyes wide with wonder as he watched Kyo stare down the Poliwrath in the midst of the chaos.
...Fortunately, his pokemon have more of a battle sense than he does. Hanai and Harima kept themselves clear of the giant repitlian....and Shiro teleported over to where the oddball Croagunk was. Just in case.]
no subject
She knows Ally Switch. Something I think she just knew when she was born. Either way, it's definitely useful.
[As evidenced now by Kyo's enormous tail slamming into Poliwrath and sending it spinning end over end.]
TYRANNNNN!
[The Croagunk hoard swarms in again, and Ichijou rolls into a high flying kick that knocks one sailing. Buuuut, she could use some help! Because some of the frogs are about to reach the cowering one.]
no subject
Clearly, that wasn't the case.]
Shiro! Try that move again! Harima, Hanai, go back to Ichijou-san and help them!
[The little Ralts launched another Confusion attack at the horde, this time trying to be more mindful of where his allies were. The Marill and Pancham attacked from the other side of the fray, trying to keep too many from squeezing in.]
no subject
This time? The frogs find themselves staring down the fangs and teeth of an Aerodactyl. Hoyo shrieks and attacks, biting and ripping.
Buuuut, this puts Geshiko and a tiring Hawlucha nearer to Yuuna and Rei. And a frog that'd lain in wait. It darts out with a few friends, and Yuuna whips around to strike at the noise but it's too late. They've grabbed the frog and are trying to make off with her while Ichijou is fighting with a very persistent one.]
Stop them, Gouken!
[Hitmonchan zips forward...but Harima and Hanai are both closer. Get em!]
1/2
Where the Pancham took the efficient approach, the Marill did what he knew best. Firing a Bubble Beam at the foes, Harima tried his best to make an impact on the field of battle...but, facts were facts. He was still small-- he needed to be bigger and faster if they wanted to make any impact this afternoon...]
2/2
He recognized them, from his old home. He wasn't putting up with their level of crazy anymore.]
AAAAAAAAAZU~~
[He let out an angered shout and fired upon them once more. That was his human, not your's. Stay Away.]
no subject
Yuuna blinks remembering how Kyo had evolved into his present state.]
Oh...hell...
[That was going to make the little fuzzbutt even more difficult to deal with...]
Good work little guy.
[And it's about that point that Hitmonchan comes in, sending the remaining frogs flying and leaving a very stunned Geshiko safe. Buuttt, the frogs are recovering, coming for Harima! YOU! YOU JERK! THEY HAD THE HERETIC!]
no subject
[That was wholly unexpected. He knew that Harima should have evolved like this much sooner, but he hadn't bothered to question it. Harima did as he did-- but this?
He was stunned.
Harima, becoming a literal wrecking ball, hurled himself at the blasted Croagunks in a rolling tackle. Heretic, schmeretic-- SHUT UP AND GO AWAY!]
no subject
Which just leaves the Poli...]
LUCHAAAAAAA
[Yuuna looks over and sees the wrestling frog is currently down for the count. It seems Kyo had backed off and let Ichijou finish her match. And the Hawlucha is currently sitting on a pinned Poliwrath.]
no subject
Adjusting the way his glasses sat on his nose, he glanced over at all of the recovering parties, absorbing everything he could.]
That...that was crazy!
no subject
The little Croagunk though, is out cold. Not hurt, but just frightened half to death.]
That...was bizarre, for sure.
no subject
[He approached the newly evolved Azumarill almost hesitantly, as if he were concerned about making a wrong move, and stopped a scant few feet away from the Pokemon. Harima, satisfied that the threat had retreated, was already searching through the mess for his favored pair of sunglasses...]
Harima-san, [Rei called. The Azumarill looked up, ears twitching as he refocused his attention.]
You were...[Rei took a deep breath,] you were very cool out there.
[At this point he bowed, complete in his respect for the still small Pokemon.]
Thank you for helping so much!
no subject
He was pretty tough, that's for sure. He's a cute little fluffball.
no subject
Reaching out with a paw, he patted Rei on the top of his head with a small grunt of satisfaction. Those frogs were idiots, and he couldn't let them hurt anything that his trainer was fond of. It wasn't like his trainer could do anything about it on his own, after all. Someone needed to look out for everything!
Then, replacing his sunglasses, he wheeled around and joined Yuuna. With a huff he abruptly looked away-- and offered her a pair of sunglasses.]
...I think he likes you,
[Rei said, completely at a loss for what to do with the fluffy little badass.]
no subject
Yeah. I...guess so. Thanks little guy.
[And because they were offered, she puts them on and strikes a dramatic pose.]
How do I look?
no subject
That'll do, lady. Now, keep them on next time you head to swamp territory.]
[Rei, for his part, watched the entire display with an amused smile-- and then little Shiro teleported to a spot right in front of him. Chuckling, Rei knelt down to pat the little Pokemon on the head.]
You did a good job too, Shiro-kun. Everyone did.
[Then, more serious, he looked up at Yuuna.]
Is everyone alright?
no subject
Croagunk'll have a hard time even scratching Kyo, and Ichijou is just too fast. That was more a warmup for them. Honestly, if it ever gets bad, you know Gouken and the rest can just end the fight. To say nothing of Kintsu.
[A faint chittering sound fills the air, emanating from Yuuna's sleeve, a tendril of purple smoke wafting out to wave at the group.]
He's...become a literal ace in my sleeve.
