Ah, I admit, it feels absolutely wonderful to be myself again.

[In her arms is not just her Dratini, but also a tiny little Horsea, the latest addition to Ami's pokemon family. Behind her a Noctowl is preening and her Luxio, as always sits in her lap.]

With that in mind, I am currently doing some research for school and would like to ask a particular question.

Now that I've been restored to my proper form and abilities, [Those that know her might wonder about what she means "abilities." Oh does she have news for you.] I would like to offer my services to help teach pokemon how to swim. It's come to my attention that many pokemon here in Union need help with the initial instructions and motions in water.

The experiment itself will be completely observational as they learn to swim and I ensure that no harm will come to your pokemon.

Lessons to those who do not know how to swim in general are also available if you wish to join me and your pokemon in the water.

My Dratini, Socrates and my Horsea, Galileo will be assisting me with the lessons.

Well, I began to suspect it when we rescued Usagi, it then continued during my birthday only to be fully realized when our bodies were altered. Something felt missing, something felt incredibly wrong, and upon having it returned, I tested my theory and I seem to be an Analyst with water and ice typing. Poor Minnie ended up on the receiving end of the hail storm I accidentally summoned.

And...you didn't think to tell us till just now?

We were all rather preoccupied, Rei-chan. Further more our bodies were only just returned to us, allowing me to finally prove and conclude my hypothesis.

Sounds like the sort of thing you should've said anyway, when you hypothesized it.

[Ah, she was joking. Ami smiled.]

No, it's really not any different, and it wasn't for me at first either. You know your types, so that's a good thing. Better than me when I started out.

Experimentation tends to help narrow things down faster. That, and as an Analyst I need only look in the mirror to figure many things out, even about myself.

That was how I worked it out, myself. Experimentation. And...accidentally setting my clothes on fire.

I suppose this explains why I've always been rather cold to the touch and why it's never bothered me before. This actually explains a good deal I've dealt with growing up.

It does. And now that you've figured it out, it's time to figure out how best to counteract your weaknesses. And it'll certainly strengthen your bond with your Pokemon.

Counteract my weaknesses? I suppose you mean the natural weaknesses that come with being my particular type and what is naturally weaker too as well as how much cold and depths I can actually withstand?

Or do you mean something else, Rei-chan?

No, that's what I meant. Aurora for example, can help train you more. As can I, with your ice typing.

Well, it's an interesting scenario I'm faced with. An ice type, for example is weak to a fire pokemon, however, water types are actually very powerful against fire, being the natural counter to the type. So I do wonder if it evens itself out on such matters for me. I would need to look at natural water and ice type pokemon to know better.

I would think so, given what I know about Cloysters. They're not resistant to fire, but it is not particularly effective against them.

Hmm, well, I intend to travel to the volcano with an upperclassmen of mine, I suppose I may be putting that to the test. Don't worry, I will be in very good hands.

The volcano is nice. Very nice, in fact. But you really need to be careful and stay away from lava pools.
