First Dango: Arrival at Union. [Video/Action]
[The video feed that comes through this fine afternoon is clearly another newbie, if the dialogue and positioning are any indication. It’s actually upside down, and the person looking at it is scowling just a bit.]
Geez, does this thing even work? Stupid…blinking. Quit it!
[It clicks off, and then back on rightside up as the woman frowns at it.]
There. Good. [Clearing her throat, the woman puts on an obviously forced smile.] Yo. Not sure who all can see this, but hey.
[Hooking a thumb at herself, Anko’s tone shifts to a brash, almost cocky tone.]
I’m Anko, from up north in Citadel. Came down here to check out what’s going on in Union, and to do a little research. If there’s anyone with experience around the mountains, particularly with mapping, let me know. I’m looking for someone, and that’s the last place I saw her.
[The video shuts off without further information. She doesn’t really expect anyone to help, but who knows with Unionites. They didn’t have to come fight that monster, either.]
Action
[And around Union, Anko’s not hard to find. She’s trotting through the streets wearing a heavy coat despite the heat, occasionally poking her head into a sweets shop and emerging with a dango or some other snack in hand. She does this at literally every shop between the gate and the library, taste-testing to find the best.
Now, when she reaches the library, she isn’t exactly the quietest person there. In fact, she’s actually pretty damn noisy, since she’s hardly trying to walk quietly. She’s there for several hours going through books and maps and journals, huffing noisily each time she finishes, seemingly unsatisfied. Who’d have thought research was hard. Ugh…]

[Anko's expression darkens slightly.]
I...only remember that much.
Well, if she's unusual looking and six feet long, at least that should make her stand out...
[She can't think of any plants in the mountain range that a Pokemon like that could blend in with.]
[And Anko holds up a faded photo alright. It's beat up, creased a bit, and yellowed with age. And depicts this woman, who's maybe currently eighteen or nineteen, as she was at around fourteen, with a tall, pale man standing beside her. They're both wearing happy grins, and in the girls arms is the Pokemon in question. It's not a clear photo, but it's definitely long and serpentine.]
Ever seen one like her?
Not exactly like her, but one that had similar colouring and was vaguely shaped like her, only with a broader upper body before the head and no rattle. Perhaps they're part of the same evolutionary line.
[Although that particular Pokemon was bonded to Valeria from Gigas.]
What's her name?
I don't remember. We've been separated for a while...
But when I'm done, maybe.
You got a name?
Right. I'm...actually pretty sure she's not originally from there. I could be wrong, but then, I really have no idea. Does the library have an atlas or other maps I could look at? Figure that might be the easiest way to coordinate locations and such.
[Anko smiles somewhat more genuinely than before.]
Any recommendations on what not to do, or what to do, while I'm looking? I don't really know Union etiquette and stuff, and I'm not out to step on toes right away. I've never seen a library before.
[She had that happen once, and was less than pleased at finding a few of the pages stained with berry juice.]
I'll keep that in mind. Any general advice about Union culture? Places to avoid? Places to visit?
[She's a bit focused on plantlife, although at least she admits it.]
Of course, it depends on what you're interested in. I may be biased in my recommendations.
[Which brings her to things about Union culture.]
As for what you should know about Union culture...we're a society that values life above all. Although we will eat meat now and then, we strive not to be wasteful with it. We're also a people who value knowledge, discovery, and progress.
[That sounds pretty appealing, but only after she's found her other companion. That's way, way more important. and then there's the schpeal about not eating meat. Except she very much did like meat. Tauros was pretty awesome. And it wasn't like she went around murdering them willy-nilly, so she doesn't feel remotely remorseful for her taste there. Still, begs the question]
But hey, are you some sort of farmer?
[Note the order in which she ranks those two titles.]
I've got somewhat of a green thumb, though.
[And with that, almost idly, she puts a seed in a pot, and uses her powers to make the plant grow. It takes about one minute to make it go from seed to fully blooming.]
Still, she grins at the sight. That's actually pretty cool!]
That's a pretty great trick. Bet you're useful in winter. [Note the lack of sarcasm! What a shock!]
I take it you're also a trainer?
[Which was tremendously useful with some people's appetites with the guests at her birthday party. She grew a lot of the fruit and vegetables for the food herself so that they wouldn't have to dip in so much into the agricultural center.]
And I am a trainer. I've got twenty-one Pokemon on my team so far.
[But then, she doesn't have any at the moment. So.]

How many have you documented so far?
Eighty-three.
