1st Resonance ♙ Action;
Ugh, this sucks. Why do I have to patrol? It's so early...
[About 11AM, there's a long haired boy in a Swords of the Savior uniform walking around one of the more populated parks. There's really no telling why they've let him wear his hair down, all that red flying everywhere. At least the flower petals and stuff have gone, that was annoying. He kicks a nearby rock in irritation before flopping down on a bench, not noticing the lady nearby who'd been walking towards it to sit with her baby... He doesn't even notice her huff and walk off. There's an Eevee in a cute sweater that's been trying to keep up with the seventeen year old, who finally jumps up onto the remaining space next to Luke and chimes in with a squeaky little 'Vee!' Luke groans.]
Don't add to it, Thing. You're so annoying!
[He tries to shove Mieu off the bench, but he just curls up under Luke's arm instead and he gives a dramatic sigh. His life is horrible.]
I should just go home already. Dad's probably at work, I could get away with it...

You're so worthless. [Commenting to his brother before facing Jade.] I'm doing just fine, though I don't feel I should be starting out on the bottom. Most of these idiots don't have the training I've had.
[Stop shoving, asswhip! Don't kick him with those dirt covered boots, god damn animal.]
no subject
[He doesn't have any great fondness for the Fabre twins. In fact, the person he likes most in this room would be Mieu, and he's not even a person. But this is work (sort of), so he'll behave himself (mostly), and sit down on one of the armchairs, still wearing that polite smile.]
By the way, Luke, you look like you've been in a fight.
[Jade knows good and well what happened today, but it wouldn't be very fun if he didn't needle the twins about it.]
no subject
Yeah, a fight I won.
no subject
[A huff-
Asch's better than you, Luke. Go ahead with your claims, he still won. That's all that matters to Asch.. though if Jade is to really believe Luke was the victor (see: unlikely) like hell he wont be speaking up. For now, a fight could be avoided.. maybe.
These two need a lesson in getting along.. Their mother would tell you all about how well they played as children before Luke's illness. What went wrong.. If you ask her, Asch was lonely without his brother. YEAH RIGHT, stupid attention sucker..]
no subject
HAHAHAHAHA.]
[Pretending not to hear Asch, he nods agreeably.]
It's good to hear that your skills have increased that dramatically. Perhaps you've awoken as a Fighting type?
[Is he implying that Luke was originally incompetent? Maybe.]
no subject
[HUFFFFFF THAT'S RIGHT.]
I didn't awaken as anything though, I'm just that great at this.
no subject
[Here we go..] Whatever, listen neither of us have had any signs of awakening. Just these damn headaches keep picking up, we need a real doctor. Not these hacks our parents keep finding for us that 'can't explain it.'
[That's not an answer. FIX HIM BY LOOKING AT HIM, DAMN YOU!]
no subject
I agree. You two should see a doctor. [And not only for the headaches. He looks pointedly at the bruising on Luke's face.]
But in the meantime, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me more about these headaches. Have they changed in any way since our last appointment?
no subject
[Luke glowers over at Asch, rubbing his bruised cheek with a wince and kicking at Asch's boots again. Fuck him, he won! And he totally told mom about it too!! Finally, looks back to Jade.]
We don't need a doctor, like I want them to prod at me anymore...
[It wasn't a secret that Luke had been sick for most of his childhood, and he hated the idea of being fawned at and poked at by doctors and nurses for so long.]
Our headaches...? I dunno. They just happen, and won't go away. Mine always throbs on the right and Asch's throbs on the left. It makes it really hard to see... They haven't changed much lately though. They're just more often.
no subject
[Correcting Luke first before that nasty look fixated on Jade.]
I don't care what this idiot does but I refuse to let these things hinder me further. It becomes just about impossible to do anything while having one, not to mention for some reason their are shared between us. It never seems to fail, if Luke gets one, I get one -- I'm tired of it.
If it has something to do with being Enlightened wouldn't it have happened by now? We've been getting them for years now, the only thing changing is they're becoming worse.
no subject
[Without moving, he lashes out with a psychic attack at Luke; not enough to really hurt for any length of time, but enough to give him a sharp headache for a few seconds.]
[He continues on in the same breath, as if he hadn't just attacked the son of one of the most powerful men in the city without any provocation.]
It's not unheard of for Enlightened abilities to manifest in adulthood or even beyond that, although it's certainly rare.
no subject
That's what mom said too... I still don't think it'll happen...
no subject
[Quick to attack Jade with his words, ready to use his good ol' "My father will hear about this" but at the current moment.. they are both almost cornered. Asch wasn't taught to physically fight, he was taught to use his words and status for a use of power.. Sure they had sword training but that was for defense against wild Pokemon, not people.] s-STOP IT!
[Getting up, making his way over to his jacket before it became to grave to fix with these weak meds-- if it wasn't already.]
no subject
Is something the matter?
no subject
[As observant as Asch is, Luke is just the opposite. Mieu's jumped back up on the couch in worry and he doesn't shove him back this time, just rubbing the side of his head.]
It's just a headache...
no subject
Whatever, if he makes a fuss of it now who knows what'll happen. The freak researcher was obviously doing it to observe them. Making a mess of things now only involves Luke and Asch already has a terrible headache from all of this.] Shutup, you're so annoying..
[His Eevee hops off his jacket and goes to sit with him, unlike Luke, Asch treats his a little kinder.. letting it sit in his lap.] Yeah, somethings wrong. Luke has a headache, that means I get one too.
That's what I just told you, wasn't it? [Spice a little sass into that remark, wouldn't be Asch fon Fabre without a pinch of bratty backlash.]
no subject
[It takes him a few seconds, but he eventually concludes that he should tell them. People should be told about matters that concern them, correct? Morality is such a bother sometimes.]
Not exactly. You simply told me you have them at the same time; which could be due to any number of reasons, considering you two are essentially the same.
But now, we have confirmation that Luke having a headache causes you to have one as well.
[In other words, there's some pretty strong support for Jade hypothesis that there's a psychic link between the twins. But he's not going to mention that (unless badgered) because a) that would require him to put things in simple terms and b) that would require him to comment on something he's not 101% certain of yet.]
no subject
[Luke looks stupid for a moment, before huffing out a breath. He always forgets about Jade's abilities, as much of a creep as he is... He used to think they were kind of cool but now it's just annoying.]
Why? Now it's gonna last for hours...
[Or days. Luke's never really sure. He rubs his palms into his eyes, not caring to take any of the medication Asch ran for. He hates it almost as much as the migraine.]
We're not a science experiment, you know!
no subject
[Already calming down thanks to his medication, his headache fading slightly. It'll be gone as time goes by... they are actually rather quick reacting pill however--]
You better take something. [That was more of a threat than an advisement. If Luke's headache wasn't gone by the time Asch come off his medication they would both still have the same ongoing migraine.]
Happy now? [Looking back to Jade.] Does it have something to do with being enlightened? Something tells me it's just Luke's weakness catching up with the both of us and I want it permanently fixed. The drugs are fine but they aren't an ultimate alternative. [Seems he can be reasonable when not so riled up -- sorta -- for Fabre twin standards. Perhaps a little too entitled still for his own good.
It's odd, both of them claim their so different yet they keep comparing one another like they are the same, Luke's early life illness has nothing to do with Asch and yet he waits for the day he also becomes deathly sick...]
no subject
[He brushes aside Asch's questions.]
Perhaps so. I can't be sure, but I would recommend your father ask other Psychic enlightened to look at you.
[He adjusts his glasses.]
Does it still hurt?
[He had calculated the attack to hurt for a few seconds, enough for him to observe a reaction. If it had been going on longer than that, it might indicate a weakness to Psychic attacks, or perhaps a result of some feedback loop in the connection between the twins.]
no subject
[He takes the pill from Asch, looking at it almost woefully. He can't swallow them dry like Asch, can barely swallow them at all, but that weakness seems weird to show in front of Jade. He gathers as much spit in his mouth as possible and tries to dry swallow it. The proceeding choking fit is probably more embarrassing than getting up for a drink is, but he gets it down and feels it burn in his belly.]
Damn...
no subject
Why another Psychic Enlightened? [Voice calm, seems whatever biol Asch's blood was at has simmered down to a reasonable level.]
no subject
[As far as he can tell, this hypothesized link between them is perhaps most similar to a form of empathy, except one where they can only feel each other's headaches. Not the most desirable of powers, but perhaps it's a start.]
no subject
[It doesn't have a lot of oomph behind it while Luke is still gagging a little on the taste of the bitter pill. He makes a face and wipes his mouth on the back of his glove.]
You think we can communicate like that? Just my luck... Like I don't have to talk to him enough already...
in which asch nopes out of this one
[.....Communication, they have a psychic link of-- Savior, help him.] NO, it's not that, this just a stupid coincidence. [A link between them.. damn, what if that is their Enlightened ability just waiting to be unlocked? The last thing Asch wants is more options to talk with his brother.] We don't need to see anyone else about these "Enlightened potentials" because we don't have any. They are awful headaches that just happen, we need a real doctor.
Thanks for fucking coming, now get out!
[The nerve, how rude, to say he and Luke have potential? Because of each other?? Disgusting.]
smartest thing anyone has done in this thread tbh
