For those who fear the encroaching flowers herald events of a slightly more urgent nature, perhaps it isn't really paranoia so much as sensibility.

Two days after they first appear, every single flower in Union blooms overnight. The sight is incredible - the entire city is blanketed in rainbow waves of color, and the scent of the flowers themselves is quite fragrant. The strange pink blossoms are particularly attractive.

For many of the residents of Union, however, the flowers may not be the first thing on their minds as things go a bit chaotic.

1. Enlightened with a Bug, Fairy, or Grass typing will become subject to extreme emotion swings. Primarily, the emotions will be positive, like overwhelming ecstasy, a sensation of giddiness, and a desire to spread cheer amongst their friends. These Enlightened may also suffer from confusion, an excessive amount of energy, and general loopiness. When not in sunlight, they'll swing towards the negative end of the emotional spectrum.

2. Bug, Grass, and Fairy type Pokémon have taken it upon themselves to settle into this new paradise, with the Bug types descending in swarms from above, and the Grass and Fairy types wandering in through the gates whenever the guards aren't looking. Though not violent, they'll be generally insensitive to the trouble they cause for the humans and will react negatively to anyone or anything harming the flowers.

3. Other strange Pokémon have also wandered into Union and while most appreciate the gentle sunlight, a few of the more mischievous have decided that the city could use some more variety. Each individual Castform may alter the weather between sun, rain, and hail within a certain area of the city ranging about two blocks. If Castform is creating Rain or Hail, Fairy, Bug, and Grass Enlightened will respond in a negative manner.

4. Allergies will be more fun to deal with than ever.

5. Finally, the following event Pokémon will be temporarily available to be bonded with as an extra bonus for this week. Please respond in the Map and Wild Pokemon post as per the usual to claim these. The level range is 5-8.

This event will end on April 13th. You may use this post as an IC mingle or make your own entries as you wish. If your character is a Fairy/Bug/Grass Enlightened and you prefer not to play the effects, you may opt-out.

[Ow ow ow ow! Hiroshi hurries towards the safety of an overhang, Takuro trying to keep close to mitigate the hail. Both Goodall and Martena seem REALLY annoyed by the change in weather.]

...Hail?! But it was perfectly sunny a minute ago!

[Takuro shrugs in confusion. He doesn't get it either, man.]

[In addition to hail, cold wind starts blowing! The weather really couldn't get any worse.

But if Goodall and Martena set out to find out what is causing it, they might just find the source.]

[They're pretty PO'ed at this point, yeah. So both of them are tearing through the plant life trying to find the jerkass responsible. Hiroshi wants to follow, but GEEZ, this weather...]

H-hey! Don't just run off like that!

[The jerkass responsible is... a weird purple-ish ball wrapped in a cloud? It might be hard to notice in this weather, but, well, the laughter like that of a children's book villain gives it away. It certainly seems to enjoy the chaos it's creating - bow before the master of the winds, mortals!

... It totally fails to notice the two Pokemon approaching it, though. So much for the master of the winds.]

[Martena looks over at Goodall, and the two nod. One, two...

Martena lets loose a Stun Spore -- about time she did something that wasn't Harden -- while Goodall Fury Swipes the crap out of it. STOP MESSING WITH THE WEATHER.]

[The Pokemon yelps in surprise and pain - who dares to attack the master of the winds?! Ow ow ow, hey, that hurts!

Fine, if that's how you want to play, it'll charge for a tackle! Aiming at Martena (she looks easier to hit and Goodall has the awful nasty claws, it doesn't want to be anywhere near them), it darts forward to slam its body into her--

And then Stun Spore hits as it's in the middle of executing its move, and it whooshes past Martena on momentum and plops down. Can't even levitate itself like this.

... >:(]

[Hiroshi finally braves the weather -- which seems to be calming down a bit -- to find out what his Pokemon were going after -- just in time to have the answer plop down at his feet. He bends down. Hmm.]

You wouldn't happen to be responsible for this weather, would you?

[He signals Takuro over; the Axew was always better at communicating.]

[The Pokemon hmphs indignantly. What if it is? None of you are capable of appreciating its efforts anyway!]

You're causing a lot of trouble for people, you know. My friends here actually took it pretty easy on you all things considered.

[Another, bigger hmph. It's an artist, you know. Sacrifices have to be made for the sake of art!

It tries to get up, unsuccessfully. After a short pause, it makes another disgruntled noise. Turn it over at least, faceplanting in the earth isn't fun. :|]

[Hiroshi sighs and helps him up. Takuro walks over, chittering in Pokemon-ese. You know, though, if it's art you're into, the gray-haired kid here has a Smeargle who's a fellow enthusiast.]

[The Pokemon perks up somewhat at that. Finally, a kindred soul!

... But then it side-eyes the gray-haired kid. Wouldn't that mean having to deal with those... other two? The green one with nasty claws and the butterfly?]

[Takuro scratches the back of his head sheepishly. They're not usually like that, actually. One of them only just recently got over a depression streak and the other one's usually pretty cheerful. The weather probably got to them.

Hiroshi watches the interactions between the two, the temptation to take notes high.]

[The weather? Well, they should have just asked like normal Pokemon!

And so Castform attempts to light up and clear off the bad weather completely - it takes a couple of tries because of the paralysis, but then there you go! Sun and warmth and fresh air. Castform looks really smug at its work.]

[The effect is like night and day. Suddenly, Goodall and Martena are happy as Shellders again, taking in the flowers and the sunshine with a sort of ecstatic glee. Hiroshi, meanwhile, is startled, and eyes the Castform.]

...Weather manipulation? That's quite an ability.

[Takuro nods and looks at the Castform. Well? Coming along? He's a bit stiff, but a nice guy underneath it.]

[Castform pauses a little to think (mostly for the sake of keeping the air of aloof dignity). Well... if there's going to be food, fellow artists and proper respectful treatment, it might come along.]

...You're coming with me? I... all right.

[He's not sure what just happened, but he thinks he just gained a new ally.]
