I've seen Pokémon evolve before, but this is the first time that someone who I've bonded with has evolved. It never stops being incredible to watch them change. I don't think I could ever get tired of seeing it. What about everyone else? Is it the same way for you?

[A brief pause as he remembers that not everyone is like him.]

How many of you have seen a Pokémon evolve before?

[The image wobbles severely for a bit while Apollo turns off the camera.]

Well Martena just evolved recently, but despite the fact she has a superior move to use now, she keeps insisting on using "harden" over and over anyway. We're still trying to train her out of that.

Encourage her, but don't force her to if she doesn't want to. If she's only using Harden then maybe something's bothering her and she's trying to feel safe.

Something's bothering her? She was like that before she transformed, though.

She could have been attacked and injured before you met her. She might want to be sure that she's always as well protected as she can be so that it doesn't happen again.

[Or it could be the result of the way that movesets are generated, but let's not break the 4th wall here.]

Dropping onto someone from above works fairly well most of the time. I find that people often forget to look up, especially when there are trees blocking off the sky.

*sigh* Anyway, I believe it is less an issue of her being frightened and more that she seems convinced that Harden is the answer to pretty much every one of life's problems still. If I didn't know better, I'd swear she's showing off most of the time.

She could be. She might be surprised when she finds a problem that Harden doesn't solve, though.

I DID try to hammer that into her when we first met. Unfortunately, I could not think of much to prove my point that wouldn't harm her unduly.

[Which had resulted in him kicking her, he would have to admit, but that just mostly resulted in hurting HIMSELF unduly.]

If she used Harden enough I don't think that there's much you could do that would harm her, at least without using Enlightened abilities.
