[Maya's broadcast today (read: about 9pm) has her looking a little tired; not in a sick way, but she's been working hard for the past few weeks. Her goal is to make sure at least most of her pokémon are around the same level, and so intensive training has been a must.

...This week, though, they've taken a break from training to search, so Shinrei, Chikao, Bozu, and Boss are with her as opposed to the team she was training-- and now Maya's taken a break from searching to do a broadcast.]

Hey. Um, I figured I'd make a video, since I forgot to let everyone know-- this week and next week I'll be at the Coastal Ruins. I'm looking for something right now and training again later, so.. yeah.

That means lessons and tutoring at the school are off for the next two weeks. When I come back, though, I'll still be training pretty hard! So, you're welcome to join us for lessons, or just to train.

[A shrug.]

Sorry about forgetting to let you guys know... I hope Peri hasn't scared anyone off who was looking for me. Haha.

Anyway, I'll be back the week after next! But if you wanna plan a lesson or something, let me know, okay? I've got time to chat.

[ACTION ; NIGHT]

[In the dark just outside the coastal ruins, other searchers may find a certain medium a-glow in the night with her ghosts and sylveon. She speaks to them softly, hands on her hips.]

Alright... let's get going. Tonight'll be the night-- don't worry!

[And with that small pep-talk, she leads them in, eager to explore.]

Hey now... who says smiles and meditation are exclusive?

[With a smirk, Maya rolls her eyes.]

I don't mind visitors or anything, but it is a pretty quiet place.

Thought the point of it was that you tried to get inner selfed - smile not coming up on the outside, more inside.

[ Hum ] Still. I'd like to come see you.

Well, I did say I don't mind visitors!

[Grin.]

Besides, we're mostly just looking around right now, so you wouldn't be interrupting anything. Come on by!

[ GOD GOOD ]

I'll be there by night's end. Or the morning after, guess we'll see how fast I spook ya.

Well then, I'll be waiting!

Don't disappoint me, now, or me and my buddies might get sad.

[she giggles a bit, dark and spooky.]

[ As promised, the trip south in and of itself (particularly with Route 1 cutting some of the distance) is more of a day trip than it used to be. Once she's in the area though, Melaka's got to track down Maya. Rather than calling the other woman, or calling for her though, she sets Slugger - her Donphan - to the task of trying to track down the ghost, to test both him, and her own Ranger prowess. She's got this, shouldn't be hard if they're training in those ruins. She recalls where that entrance was, even if she hadn't really been in them ]

[Luckily for Slugger, they're not too far in at the moment. Maya has, by that time, bonded with Natu, and is busily trying to learn more about him.

If Slugger and Melaka catch the sound of her speaking and the tinkling rattle noises of her banettes, they'll have no time finding her at all. As they get closer, they'll even catch the sight of the glow Maya and her pokémon give off.]

[ Slugger notices long before Maya. While his sight is so-so, his sense of smell (being an elephant) and hearing (by his nature) was both top notch. So hearing the jingling there, and hearing some other spoopy noises, Melaka grins, following behind the jogging Donphan, she sees the lights after the fact. And when she does, the waves down the target, leaping ahead to say - ]

Gotcha!

[ And try to surprise the ghost. ]

[At the sound, Maya and her ghosts all freeze up, looking Melaka's way-- but rather than seem scared, they all begin to grin and laugh. What a good way to be greeted!

(The Natu, however, seems a little flustered.)]

Hey! Look who it is!

You showed up, after all.

[ Okay, that laugh wasn't expected, but the comparison of Maya's reaction and the Natu's reaction makes Melaka herself giggle. The Donphan makes an amused noise too, but mostly he settles down to sniff out the rest of the area - something spells interesting here, he can't decide what.

But for Melaka's case, she flexes a little, punches the air, and gets up to Maya as if not sure if she wants to clap her on the shoulder or just shoe proximity. Ultimately, she does neither, but she is smiling ]

Well, I do have my pride!

Good to know! Means I can always bribe ya.

[She's joking, she swears. Getting to her feet after righting her Natu up, she closes the distance between them to offer a h-- wave. A wave, because she recalls as they approach that a high five probably won't work too well.]

Nice to see you! What've you been up to?

[ Melaka noticed that moment, and she waved as well, looking a little bit awkward, and more to get over her awkwardness than anything, she swung a light punch onto Maya's shoulder - or well, through it, because she wasn't trying to hurt her, more just remind herself that they can't touch super easily, and that's fine.

After that, she just rolls her shoulders ] Oh, you could bribe me any old day, if I'm making coin. [ But for her, now- ] I'll help me with the whole moving up - main thing's been feeling the finances and feeling the area see if I can't get a better apartment.

[ But she doubts she'll find one she needs ]

[Maya grins at the punch, seeming a bit more relaxed (though she wasn't so tense in the first place); Melaka's seeming a bit more open, and that's encouraging.]

Movin' up, huh? Looks like things have been goin' good for you. Get promoted or something?

[She gives a little smirk as though trying to weed out the info with flattery.]

Not... so much on the promote, so much as the connects. [ She waves a hand ] Bonds, family, pokémon. It's a matter of need, where I've gotta use some savings I have, see if I can't get somewhere bigger.

[ That said, even if she's not sure if she'll be able to afford it... it really does make her glow a bit. he's been feeling good, despite the conflict and the war, because she's been going up a lot in her personal life. Plus, well, she's trying to be friendly. ]

What about you, what's got you training?

--Oh. Uh.

[Maya looks a little sheepish, shrugging a bit-- and Shinrei rests her chin on Maya's shoulder.]

It's just, after that run-in with the enhanced, I figured... should get a little stronger, you know?

[She puts her smile right back on, but starts playing with one of the beads in her hair.]

Just, so I can help out more.

You get in a rough spot there?

[ She felt useless during her encounter - none of them stood a chance in the first place, and what she does best - violence - was therefore unable to be utilized. In truth, she probably just got in the way. ]

...More like, my cousin did, and I couldn't do much of anything for her. My best friend, too.

[She sighs, shrugging, her wisps dimming around her. The pokemon with her seem to notice her change in demeanour.]

I keep up with training because my pokemon do, but I never thought I'd be in that position, you know? That's like something from a stage show-- your friends being in trouble, and you not being able to help.

[ Or your brother, and they...

Melaka's face too gets a bit dark, but she lowers it, inhales, and banishes the memory (or was it a dream...) of her brother. She focuses on the weakness she had in the last moments they had during the fight with the Enhanced. For her part, she always was diligent, always trying to grow and get stronger. But was she adapting enough? Was it fast enough? She said they wouldn't fall to Rory, but- ]

Haven't seen all the stage shows, but it sounds dramaed up, yeah. The world's been growing for us, so what we gotta do if we're gonna be "Trainers" keeps growing too.
