Summary: Honoka stalks Umi in the swamp because she promised she would!

[On her way back from the mountains, which by the way was the worst idea ever, she remembers that Umi had been searching for a particular pokémon in the swamp. She did say she would go out there, as she approaches the border of the area, and gives it a good, hard, not-actually-wanting-to-go-in-there look. It dark and she doesn't like it. But her Tropius, Ariera, looks down at her.

You did tell that girl you'd go. Go on, it's not that bad.

After several minutes of protesting, and finally getting the courage and the determination that she'd go through the swamp and find Umi like she said she would, the young girl is trudging through the muddy water.]

Waaaaaaah!!!! There's water in my boots and I'm getting soaked! And I'm full of mud!

Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuumiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!!! Where are you, can you hear me?

[She probably scared away all the pokémon...]

[Umi's not really here to have fun, but if Honoka's getting some enjoyment out of it, she doesn't mind.]

If I did, I would have told you.

Good! Then let's fish! [Not that she can fish herself, but she'll think of ways to do it without a rod. Maybe she'll come back with a rod for next time.]

Umi, look! I think I see a Skrelp looking at you line!

[umiiroshoujo]

[If Honoka starts throwing rocks or something, she's getting pushed into the water. At the mention of something at her line, she turns her attention back to it, waiting for the bite.]

There's something there. It would help if the water wasn't so murky.

[But that's likely how the Pokémon like it. And sure enough, it doesn't take more than a few seconds before her line jerks, and Umi is quick to hook it, concentrating as she reels in the Skrelp in short bursts, waiting for it to tire itself.]

You got it! Umi, you got it! [Have a personal cheering squad from Honoka, who is fist pumping in the air.]

[Umi merely nods as she keeps her focus on reeling in the poisonous little thing. Which thankfully doesn't take too long. Unfortunately, it's only a regular Skrelp.

It's disappointing, but hey, at least something took the bait.]

I got it. It isn't shiny, though.

[honokairo]

[Her energetic cheering stops for a second. It's not?]

I thought for sure we'd get a shiny that way... [Welp...]

That's okay! We gotta keep trying, right?

[Umi nods. She's gotten used to reeling in nothing but normal Skrelp.]

Yes. I'll find one eventually.

[honokairo]

Alright! Let's keep trying until we get tired.

[This girl has enough energy for the both of them. She stares intently into the water, like she's trying to find another one.]

I wonder how many there are...if you throw them back, you'll just keep catching the same one.

Thankfully, it doesn't take all that much energy.

[Casting and reeling in is easy enough, as is the waiting.]

There are probably dozens, if not hundreds.

Eh.....

Did you think there would only be a handful? This is a swamp, not a little pond.

Well, no...I guess there would be... eh heh heh heh...

[She totally knew that]

Ohhhh...I hope you still get one, out of so many...

[Sure, Honoka. Sure.]

I'll find one eventually. It's a matter of time. It's possible that they're more common elsewhere, or during different seasons.

Umi!

That means you might have to go somewhere else to find one!

And that means you might have to wait an entire year! That's so long!

[She still has not gotten what it means to have patience to get a shiny.]

I'm unaware of another place to search for them right now. However, I'm prepared to do what I must to obtain one.

[She's lasted a few weeks already. This isn't hard to be patient for.]

Then we'll get you one! [Always looking on the bright side of things. If that's what Umi wants.]

Let's keep trying! Come on Umi, go up and try again! I can get lots of bananas just in case we run out!

[Umi nods. Of course she'll get one. Even if it takes an extraordinary amount of time.]

Let's hope you don't run out of bananas, then.

[With that, she releases that poor Skrelp that was dragged into this.]

Maybe I'll get lucky.

You will, I can feel it! Let's do it, Umi!

[And they go back to fishing. Honoka comes back the next day too, to help- even if Umi doesn't get her shiny Skrelp.]
