[Today over the Warp Band, it's not just Yukiko that appears, it's Fuuka and they're both standing outside of a small stone building on the bottom floor of one of the newly reconstructed towers. Dressed nicely, they both bow at the camera and smile broad, happy smiles.]

Good afternoon, everyone. Today we wanted to announce that Yamagi-ya is officially reopened. The flower shop, engineering shop, and my move tutoring services are all completely ready and at your service.

We'll handle whatever it is you need, though all custom orders are still going to need a few days to complete, so please keep that in mind when you're ordering. I hope you'll consider us for whatever you might need, and we both look forward to serving y-

[She cuts off as a Snorlax paw slides over the camera.]

Peter. Don't. You. Dare.

[The paw slowly retracts.]

As I was saying. We both look forward to serving you. Our hours are 10 to 9, but we can schedule appointments whenever you might need.

[and the feed shuts down.]

[Throughout the day, Yukiko and Fuuka can both be found at their shop, working away. Flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and a sullen Snorlax is doing penance by sweeping the gym.]

((ooc: This is a joint post with Fuuka and Yukiko. You may get one or both of them, unless you specify!

Part One - On the Job - OPEN

Ryuko's time in Union had already been pretty busy, what with all that time spent with cleaning up the place and then her trip out to Glacier to find a giant evil egg. That had been a little disappointing, not just because she'd ended up doing pretty little but she hadn't even run into any of those Elite Four guys everyone was talking up. Oh well, at least she'd gotten one of those Mega Stones out of the deal... not that she had a Pinsir to give it to but, hey, it's something.

Now that she's back in town though, it's time to start to get down to business with her new job. One of the few, the brave, the thin line between order and anarchy: Union's newest Sword of the Savior is on the job!

... Sort of. Turns out, patrolling a city with such a puny crime rate meant a lot of walking around and watching people go about their days. So that newest protector of peace and order is currently sitting on a step outside an empty building, looking bored right out of her mind.

"Jeez." She yawns loudly, stretching her arms out over her head before slouching down again with a heavy sigh. "I thought signing up to be a cop'd mean I'd get to see a little more action."

The rest of the day, she'll be out on her route in search of anything eventful that might be going down. There has to be a purse snatcher, or a kitten in a tree, or something going on, right?

... Right?!

Part Two - Babysitting Duty - Closed to Kanade

So, somehow she'd been roped into this. Not long after showing up in town, Ryuko's paths had crossed with Kanade's for the first time and had led to some time spent catching up. Turns out, the other girl had wanted to get the chance to explore the world outside of Union, but her parents had been hesitant to let her head out there. ... On her own at least.

Luckily, Ryuko's past several weeks training in the wilderness and building her own power had apparently made her suited to count as an escort. Which meant she'd ended up volunteered to make sure Kanade made it out there and then back home safe. After a little convincing a promising of plenty of the restaurant's famous baked goods.

And now the day had finally come and Ryuko's leaning against the wall of the Lucky Spoon, packed light as always with only a few days of supplies and her trusty sword on her back and waiting for her charge to get her stuff together for the trip.

"Hey, you ready yet? What's takin' so long?"

[Video, last night. The view is shaky, but clearly of Morgiana. There are lots of people laughing and cheering.]

I met a Fanalis and she knows everything. Everything.

[She switches a view to a short girl with horns who was laughing and cheering the loudest of them all.]

Well maybe not everything but she's going to tell me things. Like, big things. But first I hafta climb this *unintelligable mumbling*

Okay wish me luck!

[Video, that morning. Morgiana looks somewhat worse for wear. Careful observation of the background might reveal that she is on the roof of Union's biggest theater. You know the one.]

I'm...terribly sorry, but I'm not quite sure where I am, and I feel quite ill.

Last night is all a blur. I didn't do anything weird, did I?

[Please indicate which entry you're tagging. Feel free to make up weird things she might have done last night. Only guidelines: She would not have seriously hurt anyone. She would not have done anything overtly sexual. She PROBABLY wouldn't have broken anything super important.]

Yosuke, dear!

Don't forget: if you do an ill-advised, drunken, hurried, or otherwise completely non-romantic proposal on this holiday, I will be very cross with you.

The thing about being on the road for a chunk of time like Ryuko's been, it means you miss out on a big chunk of local news. It gets even worse when your Warp Band communications drop out like hers had just the day before. At the time, she'd found it kind of annoying and weird but nothing worth getting bent out of shape about. Wasn't like she had anybody to talk to anyway.

At any rate, it meant that the sight of the damaged city and the bustling activity of workers was a bit of a surprise. But at least it meant that one new arrival to the city was going largely unnoticed as she wandered through town. True, the sight of a teenage girl carrying a large metal guitar case strapped to her back was a pretty uncommon one but there were more important things to worry about, right?

It's not until sometime later that she's come to a stop, leaning up against a wall and checking out of her new Warp Band that she plugs into the signal network, pulling up the video function.

"So, uh, I just got into town." She glances around and tosses something up and down in her free hand. A lemon. She catches it and lifts it to her mouth to take a bite out of it, skin and all, chews and swallows. "Kinda gettin' the feeling I missed something. What's the deal?"

[OOC: Intro post! Feel free to respond to her on video or run across her in person. She'll just be kinda out bumming around town for the time being.]

The battle is joined. The gods of Union, while mighty, seem to pale in comparison to the singular dragon of ice. Although they strive mightily to avoid damaging the city, already the mysterious blue dragon has been flung directly into a tower, earning itself a nasty gash over its eye, much to the dismay of the red dragon. While it has rejoined the fight, it is clear that the gods alone are not enough - the people of Union will have to step forward if they are to save their beloved city. The cries of the wounded and terrified citizens echo through the streets as the flames of battle rage. Now is the time - they must be stopped!

[A few days ago, Morgiana had gone on a trip to the South. Today, she came back with a new friend.

Rather than arriving at the docks by steamship, Morgiana landed there on the back of a Tropius. Said Tropius is standing behind her, though looming might be a better word. It stares into the camera over her shoulder with an inscrutable look on its face and (possibly) just the hint of a knowing smile. This is a Tropius that knows things.

Or at least it believes it does.]

I have now officially joined the rangers. Union has made itself my home and asked for little in return, but I feel like I have to give back even so.

I suppose this means I will be in town a little less often, but that is unavoidable. To be honest, I have been feeling a bit too settled lately. Regular exploring will do me good.

[The Tropius nudges her, causing her to stumble a step. It was a big one, and Morgiana is small.]

Oh yes, also I have a new...I suppose she would be a co-worker.

[Action - Around Town - October 30th & 31st]

[In the several days leading up to the end of the month, Chie can be seen in the business district of Union shopping for food.  She's buying a relatively large amount of meat, but also more common staples such as milk and bread.  And just for good measure and as a bit of personal comfort, she also stocks up on some chocolate and candy.]

[As the feed clicks on, Chie's face is barely illuminated, and it seems as though she's in a cramped place.  She's also badly trying to conceal a worried expression.]

So, I'm kindaaaaa... not gonna be around for a few days.

[She pauses, eyes casting about left and right.]

...A week.  I'll be gone for a week.

[A small nod.]

I'll be fine.  I, uh... I think.  I hope.

[Taking a deep breath, she reaches toward the Warp Band.]

Don't look for me.

[Action - At Home - During Soulfasting]

[Anyone who's known Chie for any length of time probably knows exactly what that awkward Warp Band transmission from before was about: she's terrified of Ghost Pokemon, and they're always out in force during Soulfasting.  So she's availing herself of a time honored Satonaka tradition of locking herself in her bedroom, huddling under the blanket, and hoping nothing phases through the wall to play harmless but deeply terrifying tricks on her.  She trusts Morgiana not to let anything scary inside, and Chie herself will likely let close friends in with a minimum of prodding, but otherwise she's gone full hermit mode for the week unless something very important pulls her away.]

[The battle was over and the god Reshiram defeated, driven away by the aid of Union and its allies. The city was safe, by and large, and as the news spread throughout the peoples of the tundra, they began streaming back into the settlement in droves. Dirty, ash-coated faces were filled with relief and gratitude when they saw that it wasn't just a rumor and that their home had indeed been spared. Not everyone was so lucky, but they'd weathered worse, of course. The people of Glacier endured, as they would always endure, and they were also a people that repaid their debts. And they most certainly all agreed that they owed their rescuers a debt.

So, as night fell after the battle, a great celebration was prepared in the center of Glacier. A wide square was cleared away in a matter of hours, and the people gathered what they could in a show of thanks. Tables of food, bonfires towering into the night sky to keep out the autumn chill, and throngs of cheering wellwishers lined the area. Warriors of glacier, men carrying swords and women all bearing axes offered enthusiastic handshakes and claps on the back. Music of all kinds was played, though tribal tunes full of horn and percussion, chanting and yodeling, and even some brass groups dominated the soundscape.

A platform for various elders was set up, and they offered speeches, of course...but those were somehow dwarfed by the presence of the divine beings that were waiting silently for the proceedings to end. Some of the gods that had come to the aid of the war parties had apparently decided to stay, though their reasons were as mysterious as they themselves. The humans would have their time, and the Servants would mingle freely throughout the evening.

Food, of course, is set out in piles. Meat, fish, arctic berries, and various pastries and the like line table after table. A smorgasbord of Glacier specialties, each with a new and unique flavor all their own, and some (such as the stew) possessing a smell that only a native could probably endure. Akutaq in particular seems to stand out among the worst offenders, but the Glacier natives seem rather fond of it, and offer it to their rescuers with great gusto.

And the rewards do not stop at simple meals. either. As the speeches begin to wind down, a woman some might find familiar walks up onto the stage carrying a singularly massive trunk and dropping it down onto the wood with a heavy thud.]

Southerners! You have done a great deed this day! We, the people of Glacier, would like to thank you and honor your sacrifice! Few would do as you have done, coming to the aide of strangers against the might of that dragon...and you have accomplished something we did not think possible. To that end, we would like to present you with the first of many gifts, a token of our gratitude and a promise that should you need it, we will come to your defense in a time of need!

[And then with a sharp kick, she cracks open the trunk and reveals a veritable treasure trove of three different stones to be distributed by her subordinates.]

Rest well, and enjoy the festivities! You are welcome here, for as long as you like! Eat, drink, and be merry within our halls!

Who: Chie and Morgiana
What: A quiet night in
When: September 19th
Where: Chie and Morgiana's apartment

[It's been a good few months since Chie and Morgiana moved in together, and while they've been getting along really well, they actually haven't been on too many dates together.  Plenty of sparring matches, walks through the city, and meals at favorite restaurants, but none of it ever really felt like a date so much as hanging out together.  And while Chie definitely appreciates the casual nature of their relationship as compared to the relative pressure of her last one, she wants to do something special for Morgiana to show her how much she cares.  So tonight, the two of them are cooking a meal together.  Chie would have done it herself, but by this point even she is aware of just how big a disaster she is in the kitchen.  After a bit of discussion, the two decided they'd try it together - Morgiana can stop Chie from putting anything crazy in the dish, and Chie can handle the actual cookware so nothing ends up broken.  That's the name of the game tonight as these two extremely amateur cooks attempt the harrowing task that is... beef and veggie stew.]

[Residents currently on the Warp Band network would be greeted by the face of a sharply dressed young person over the feed. With the quirky hat and the short hair style, the person had an equal chance of being male or female-- the clean lines of the dress shirt and tie didn't help matters either. The sun was bright that morning, and it took the stranger a moment to adjust their angle to account for the glare flashing off the lens.]

Good morning, Union.

[The stranger nodded briskly in greeting, offering a smile that was equal parts friendly and professional to the people tuning in.]

I imagine that we're all busy getting started with the day, so I'll keep this brief: I'm Naoto Shirogane, a detective from Caldera. I've just arrived, so does anyone else from the north mind filling me in on what's been happening?

Also-- I'm still in business if anyone wishes for my services. Just contact me on the network.

[And, promptly, the young detective closes the signal out.]

[That afternoon would greet people in Union with one of two sights: the first is that of a young Ralts who had gotten separated from his trainer, staring longingly at the freshly baked buns that were cooling off within sight of the bakery window. He knew that humans like that green, papery stuff to trade for food and goods-- and he didn't have any-- but that didn't dampen the longing for the buns any less.

The second is that of Naoto herself, walking briskly down the streets in her platform boots, ignoring the smack of leather on concrete as she searched the streets. Some of the noise was intentional-- she wanted her target to know where she was, if they were to find her first.

On occasion she might peer at an unfurled map to get an idea of her general location. Other times she could be found staring down the street with a crisp, analytic look in her eyes. Anyone wandering close by might here her murmur something under her breath:]

Where could he have run off to this time?

[It's been a few weeks since Lucca delivered the frame for Chie's brand new Rotomcycle, but with everything that's been happening lately with Sanctuary, the Day of Fire, and being in a brand new relationship, she hasn't had the time to try it out yet.  But all that changes today!  She's been working with her Rotom, Sparky, and he's slowly getting over his hundreds upon hundreds of seemingly random horrible phobias.  Clearly it's time to get him into the cycle and hit the road.  And she's so confident everything is going to work out that she's decided to film it on her Warp Band, which is currently being held by her Hitmonlee.]

Hey, everybody!  Check it out - this is my new Rotomcycle!  Pretty cool, right?

[Chie grins as she hops on, steadying the bike with one foot on the ground as the engine frame turns orange and flares to life, the telltale Rotom face appearing on the front.]

It's time to take this baby out for a spin!  You ready, Sparky?

[The bike emits a series of loud buzzing sounds in response to Chie, the frame bouncing up and down.  She's interpreting it as excitement, but actually her poor Rotom is worried about being put on the spot - as will soon be evident.]

Okay, then, let's go!

[Jumping fully onto the seat now, Chie revs the motor, intending to tear off impressively into the distance and do some doughnuts or figure eights or something before triumphantly riding back into the frame and bragging about how awesome her bike is.  The reality of the situation is quite different - the bike does in fact start moving, but very slowly and timidly, letting out little sputtering sounds as it chugs along.]

What the...?  Hey, c'mon, Sparky, we practiced this!

[And then she looks over at the Warp Band, waving her hands.]

L-Lee, shut it off!

[Way too late, Chie.  The world has seen this embarrassing display.]

[There's a familiar face that pops up on the warp band, although it's been a while since Kyouko found herself in Union. She doesn't look much different. A bit dirtier, maybe. Wandering unexplored lands training and in search of her adversary was not exactly a vacation.]

It's been a while, Union. [While she looks relaxed, there's just a tiny edge to her voice, like she really doesn't want to be here.]

I'm lookin' for someone. [She's not going to beat around the bush.]

Thought I saw her on the band when I stopped in Caldera not too long ago. Blonde hair in two like, twisty formations. [She takes her ponytail and twists it into the approximation of one of Mami's drills.] Too nice for her own good. She's from Citadel. Anyone seen her?

Action: Moss Rock:

[It's not very often that Yukiko Amagi finds herself at a crossroads like this. But today? Today is such a day. It's a bright and sunny afternoon even without her presence, with a gentle breeze rustling through the trees. The last time she can really say she'd been so torn on something was when she'd been trying to make the choice about leaving her parents or staying to help. And if the yelling was any indication, this might be another of those completely life-altering decisions.

So she's gone out to her favorite place, the Moss Rock, to sit and think. Leaning up against the tree on Jiraiya's back, she's got her eyes closed and her fingers gently stroke the Venusaur's head. Pavarti and Orthrus hop around the big stone slab that is the afforementioned rock, while Peter snoozes off to one side with Teddie flopped over on the Snorlax's belly doing the same thing.

It's hard to say, really, why she is so conflicted. She'd done something important recently, she'd solved the mystery of herself by evolving a second time after months of trying. That change had come with a certain sense of clarity. The feeling that she needed to be more involved and focus more on helping others change. But how to go about that? How did you just reach out like that? What could she even do? She had a thought, but the Swords of the Savior didn't seem right. And she wasn't a Medic so much as a talented Healer. She didn't know why she could cure the way she did...she just could. And she had no real interest in the Old City, ghosts or talent for tracking. Which left one other option...and she was thinking hard on that one now.]

[And by dusk, she'd made her choice. She'd signed the paperwork, and all was done. Which meant it was time to share the news.]

Um...hi. It's me, Yukiko. And I did something today. I made a choice, and it feels like something I should share with anyone who cares. [A pause.] I joined the Seekers. Because I know what I want to do. I want to help people, and uncover answers that got lost in the Cataclysm. And...yeah. That' news. Thanks for listening.

[And with that done, she closes off the feed, preparing for inevitable angry messages from her parents...]

Action: Habitat

[Oh they were not happy. At all. And anyone interested in finding her can, sitting on the ground with a golden Exeggcute in her lap, back to a sleeping Snorlax. And despite the fact that she looks like she's been crying there's an oddly serene look to her too. Because sometimes it was easier to ask forgiveness than permission.]

[The feed opens on Banzu standing with his back to the sea and a folding table with various items on it next to him.]

Good morning, everyone. I've got a few demonstrations for you. Over the past few weeks I've been working on a few different pieces of equipment, and I'm thinking that a few of you might be interested in some of them.

[He picks up a metal canteen from the table, opens it, holds it upside-down, empties its contents completely, then closes it again.]

First off, this canteen refills itself with water whenever it's closed. It's not a limitless source of water, but it gave me all the drinking water I needed going from Union to Sanctuary on a single charge. [He opens it again and empties another canteen-full of water from it while he continues.] Anyone who's been in the desert or on a long expedition should be able to appreciate how useful a compact source of water can be.

[Closing the canteen and returning it to the table, he next holds up a somewhat wide and thick band of metal, which appears to be made of three arrows connecting tip to tail. He slides the bangle onto his wrist and taps the head of one of the arrows, then picks up a small berry from the table and eats it.]

Then there's this. It reproduces the move Recycle. [He taps the head of a different arrow and an identical berry to the one he just ate materializes in his hand.] It only works on berries, just like normal, but the ability to extend a food supply in a pinch could come in handy.

[He pops the new berry into his mouth, then returns the bangle to the table and picks up a green-tinted longsword.]

Next up. Facet? [A Carbink floats into view and uses Light Screen, Reflect, and Stealth Rock, setting up a rather intimidating-looking defense. Banzu holds out the sword with the point towards the Carbink and activates it. The sword pulses green and sword-shaped green lights fly out of it, spreading out as they fly and shattering the defenses that the Carbink created, while leaving the Pokémon itself unharmed. As the Carbink floats out of the frame, Banzu rotates the sword so that it's pointed at the sky and activates it again, causing it to glow brightly.] Defog and Flash, for clearing away fog, defenses, and darkness. Since you should probably be carrying a weapon on an expedition anyways, there isn't even any extra weight. I'm calling it the "Sword of Revealing Light".

While I'm on the subject of weaponry, [He holds up an odd-looking handgun.] I made this quite a while ago, but it seems like it's becoming more relevant lately. This is a Thunder Wave gun. So long as whatever you're shooting isn't immune to Electric moves, this'll paralyze it without causing any injuries. If we're gonna keep running into Gigas's forces like this, weapons like this'll make it easier to fight without the risk of accidentally killing anyone. Because that would be terrible. [His tone of voice is vaguely sarcastic there.]

And finally, something for defense. [He picks up a belt made of multiple metal plates linked together, with a large rectangular buckle. Donning it, he takes hold of one short edge of the buckle and pulls it to the other side like a double knife switch. A suit of armor forms around him, looking like a lightweight version of generic storybook Knight In Shining Armor armor, and when he speaks from behind the visor his voice echoes slightly.] The Iron Defense belt. The armor design can be set when the belt is made, so if this isn't your style I can make it look different.

[He throws the switch on the belt again and the armor vanishes.]

So if anything I've demonstrated here interests you, or you've got something else you'd like to have made, contact me over the Warp Bands, follow Route 1 from Union to the port, or head to The Prodigal Explorer in Union's Business District, and I'll see what I can do for you.

[A new face appears over the Warp Bands. Mami, being a ridiculous Valkyrie who treats the law of gravity more like a loose guideline for other people, is just casually standing atop one of the towers while she sends a broadcast out. There is some wind as a result.]

Good morning, Union. Your city is quite impressive. As are these Warp Bands. I'd heard of them, but... never seen the like before.

I'm one of the people who assisted in that unfortunate business in Sanctuary. Mami Tomoe, a Valkyrie of Citadel, at your service. I hope everyone is well after everything that happened.

[Mami doesn't spend the entirety of her first day in Union flying from rooftop to rooftop. It wouldn't be a very efficient way to see and experience the city, would it? No, instead, she is walking along the streets. She's presently in the entertainment district -- and gawking (or something more muted, but still utterly surprised), because Citadel has nothing like this. So, with the upcoming fight, I just wanted to wish everyone luck. If we can pull this off-- and I know we will-- there's going to be a whole city of people that are going to have their lives and freedom back.

That said... I know Union is a pretty peaceful town. While it's admirable you guys have done so well by not resorting to violence, and I mean that, I do, don't forget that ...this is very much a war. Gigas isn't going to care about a thing like that. They'll shoot to kill, and if they take you alive.
